In the huge glass building directly in front of him stood Bradley, accompanied by a man who was prostrate in the front seat of a car, his hands on the steering wheel, his gaze isolated.
Bradley had his back against the back seat of the same car. His legs were crossed and resting on the base of the car. Above his legs was a grey laptop computer,
His gaze was fixed on the laptop screen. He looked exhausted, as if he had just returned from a business trip.
-Mr Simons, we've arrived," said the driver.
Bradley looked away from the laptop and looked at the driver. He immediately closed the laptop and opened the car door to get out.
In silence, Bradley made his way to the entrance of the building. There was a different aura around him, nothing like the one he normally carried.
-Good morning, Mr Simons," the receptionists mentioned when they saw him.
He nodded as he saw them, without even looking at them, and entered the private lift.
-He may be the most handsome man in the world, but he has a horrible personality," said a woman in the lobby.
-We'll never have a chance with him. He's already got another skinny girl to think about," she replied.
As Bradley entered his office, one of his assistants immediately knocked on the door.
-Mr. Simons, here are the documents you requested. I await your confirmation," said the assistant.
Bradley responded in a soft, gentle voice, the kind of voice any woman would want to hear all her life as he whispered in her ear.
As soon as his assistant left, Bradley sat back down and closed his eyes to sink into his thoughts. Just as his first sigh left his lips, his mobile phone began to ring repeatedly.
-Bradley, you're back? -said a quiet female voice softly into the microphone.
With a single word, Bradley confirmed her question. However, Francin was somewhat disappointed by Bradley's attitude, dry, indifferent. He always seemed to be like that, distant, and now she was faced with reality.
-Could we meet for dinner tonight? -Francin mentioned.
She was a little anxious, she didn't feel loved by Bradley. But, deep down, she felt that things were going to change for the better at some point.
Bradley accepted her invitation, after all he had no other commitments. Francin mentioned a restaurant of some kind in a place a little away from the company. Neither of them knew the restaurant, but people in the company spoke highly of it.
They agreed to meet at the restaurant that evening at 8 o'clock. Francin hadn't seen him for a long time, he had forgotten the warmth of their kisses and hugs.
Francin got up from the sofa at six in the evening, showered and dressed in a golden silk skirt, higher than her knees. With every step she took her thighs became more exposed and it showed along her legs and her tanned skin.
She paired the skirt with a simple white shirt without details. It looked simple, different from how she normally dressed.
She had tried everything. She used to dress dazzlingly, stealing every man's gaze, but she had still lost Bradley's attention, and she couldn't stand it.
Francin tried simplicity, believing it would win his heart back. He hurried to get there early, so as not to be kept waiting as usual.
However, when he arrived at the restaurant he realised that Bradley had not yet arrived, and immediately his face changed and he settled himself at one of the more conspicuous tables.
Her excitement was noticeable and she wished that Bradley would finally notice her like he used to when they first started dating.
Time passed and he still didn't show up. However, in one of her sighs, she looked back towards the entrance and saw him there, in his drab grey suit, his bearing created by the gods themselves.
His gaze was mysterious. The two of them approached and leaned over the table.
-Welcome, would you like to order," the waiter said.
Francin was about to open her mouth and order to her liking, but, bradley beat her to it and ordered for both of them.
She looked at him, a little confused. She didn't know if it was an act of chivalry or a simple possessive act.
