Nathalie POV As I slammed the door behind me in a rage, I had forgotten all about my parents who were sound asleep upstairs, but as I took in a deep breath to calm myself I was reminded by the sound of someone coming down the stairs. It was my mother. She stepped into the hallway with a concerned look on her face and I knew I needed to make up a great excuse. “Sorry mom - the wind took the door a little harder than I expected” I said with a shy smile. She raised a brow at me, peeking outside the window at a sunny morning with little to no wind at all, and then looked back at me. I just smiled awkwardly as I stammered out: “I’m so tired from yesterday, I’ll go get some sleep, sorry if I woke you” even though I knew that sleep was the last thing on my mind right now.
