CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR Mackenzie stewed in her anger for the entire hour and forty-five minutes it took her to reach Bedford. Getting there, she bypassed Lynchburg, making her feel as if she was trapped in some weird loop, reminding her of Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. She could feel the twenty-four hours McGrath had given her slipping away with each mile and did everything within her power to remain calm and forward-thinking. She arrived in Bedford around noon.
