Asher’s POV
“I think all this is a big scheme,” Michael says after I lay everything out for him. “I mean, think about it—Zara will say or do anything to get what she wants from you and Isabella. And honestly, I don’t think you two are forbidden,” he adds, his tone brimming with confidence.
“I believe that too,” I reply, the conviction in my voice steady. “Bella is the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and I refuse to believe our love isn’t strong enough. I just need something—anything—to get rid of Zara for good.”
Michael leans back, a sly grin tugging at his lips. “You don’t have to worry, Asher. I’m not planning on letting her go anytime soon.”
I blink, thrown off. “What?”
“I’m going to win her heart,” he says plainly.
