~Camila’s pov~
“Can't you move anymore!? Fake groom” I spat when I was sure Daniil was out of sight.
“My name is Damien! Not a Fake groom” He said curtly before turning his back to walk away.
“Wait up, Arrogant freak” I yelled running after him and trying to keep up with him. Yet, he didn't wait or turn back till we entered the elevator which took us to the 10th floor.
As we walked through the corridor, everywhere was so quiet that even a pin drop sound could be heard.
“Why is everywhere silent?? Is this perhaps another den for the Verkanin’s!?” I sneered still trying to keep my pace up with him.
“Don't you know when to shut up!?” He yelled, still walking ahead non-stop.
I was Silent for a minute. I think he is the type I could mess with since he seems like the only one who’s cheerful but hearing him yell in that tone now, I am very sure he is just faking it.
We continued walking till we stopped in front of a door. He took out the key and entered while I followed him without saying a word.
“This is your room. You can only come out with my orders”. He declared and walked out before I could ask anything else.
“Crazy psychopath! Who are you to order me around??” I cursed, clenching my fist in anger.
I looked around the room and my jaw dropped in amusement.
The room was the epitome of dark luxury, dimly lit with golden chandeliers casting a soft glow over rich, black-and-maroon décor.
A king-sized bed draped in silk sheets stood at the center, adorned with scattered rose petals and plush pillows.
The air carried a subtle scent of expensive cologne and fresh lilies. On the side, a bottle of aged wine rested in a silver bucket beside two crystal glasses.
“He must have all the time in this world to do all this s**t”. I sneered and walked towards the bed. A nightgown was already prepared on the bed with bathroom slippers and some transparent underwear.
“This nuisance, He wants me to wear this s**t huh! I can manage the gown and the slippers but what am I supposed to do with these crazy underwear??? Am I a stripper??” I yelled in anger as I stumbled towards the bathroom.
Undressing my wedding gown I threw it aside and slipped into the bathroom, letting the water splash on my whole body.
I am stressed, confused, and depressed.
“Today is just about to end but, who knows, maybe I might not survive tomorrow, and even if I did, what about the rest of the days with him?”. I thought as I ran my hands through my hair.
“I emerged from the bathroom and slipped into the night gown, I don't have any other choice anyway. Wearing the slippers, I walked towards the wine and grabbed a glass preparing a small portion for myself”.
Grabbing my phone by the bedside, I saw tons of missed calls from Noemi {My best friend}. That b***h was so angry today that she didn't even attend my wedding.
I clicked on her number and was about to call her back when I heard a loud knock on the door.
I dropped the glass cup and my phone and walked towards the door.
Without thinking twice, I opened it widely. And it revealed a middle-aged man in uniform. I assumed some of the workers in the hotel were.
“Mr. Varkanin requests your audience ma’am” He asserted with a slight bow.
The corner of my mouth twitched lightly, “That fool thinks I am fully prepared for his tricky honeymoon right!?”. I said in my head.
“After you!” I smiled, closing the door behind me without asking him anything else.
“We took the elevator back to the 7th floor. Which was more crowded and lively, unlike the 10th floor. I wonder if this is even a hotel or one of Verkanin’s hideouts” I hissed internally.
As we walked through the corridors we came across some harlots doing shitty things with some nasty men. I didn't pay a lot of attention to them, not until we got closer and I found out it was a club.
The guards at the entrance didn't even stop us, they just greeted us with a slight bow. But, the look from everyone else was something I couldn't take.
“If looks could kill, then the way everyone was glaring at me could have ended me already.
“She is the only one wearing nightwear to a club” I could hear all their whispers but one thing is sure, they can't dare bring out their phone to take a picture unless they wished for death.
We took another stairs till we reached a room where the man stopped and urged me to go inside.
I nodded back in response as I entered the room majestically with a faint smile.
The room was dim, cloaked in shadows and smoke. Music throbbed in the walls. My eyes landed on a lone figure with broad shoulders, dark hair, sitting still with his back to me. Something about him made the air feel heavier.
I walked toward him and stood tall at his back, my hand folded beneath my bosom.
“Is this how you treat your bride!? By making her come to the club wearing nightwear??” I spat glaring at him disgustingly.
“You are beautiful in anything darling!” He responded, turning to look at me.
The look on my face changed drastically, because this is no Daniil, it's another ruthless bastard who dominates the business world. He and Daniil were bosses; one led the mafia world and the other towered over the Business world.
“It couldn't be what I was thinking, they have a feud between them and he is gonna use me as a scapegoat. I screamed hard in my head, my blood boiling immediately”.
“Am I right!?” He asked, standing up and walking closer to me as I started taking slow steps backward in fear.
“Sorry! I must have entered the wrong room. The words quickly escaped my mouth as I quickly turned back to rush out. Which of course I knew could never be possible. Me escaping here unscattered.
Just as I had predicted, tons of guards rushed in blocking my path. I thought it was his guards but I was even more shocked when Daniil walked out of their midst smiling mischievously.
My blood boiled, my throat tightened. “They couldn't be acquaintance right!?” That's the only question that popped into my brain as my eyes started getting blurred with tears.
