CHAPTER 12:HERITAGE PT. 2

LAYNA'S P.O.V

When I woke up the following day, I knew what to do; there was no way around it. I had to tell everyone about my family heritage. Mind-linking everyone, I told them to meet Luke and me in the library at eight. I needed to tell everyone what would come and what had passed. Walking into the room and seeing everyone there, I knew it would be a long day. The questions everyone would ask were sure to make for an irritating storytime. Before I started, I asked everyone to hold all questions and comments until I finished telling my family's history.

I started at the beginning of my family's history so everyone could understand it better. (We are descendants of the first lycans to exist, the royal white claw clan. Our history goes back a thousand years to King Damere and Queen Laytha White. The kingdom was a whole of special lycans, all white. Our kingdom prospered for seven hundred and twenty-five years. When the Great War happened two hundred and seventy-five years ago, Clearwater almost wiped out our heritage. The king and queen's son Amere was gone from the kingdom when the war happened. He was on business for the kingdom and searching for his mate, so he left often. The war came, and he felt the demise of his family and members. When he made it back, his kingdom was in ruins with no survivors. He alone laid his people to rest along with his parents. He then secured the things for his future and left for human territory, where he lived for ten years. One day in the market place he smelled his mate and followed her back to her pack. It was a small pack that doesn't exist today because they joined the new kingdom. Prince Amere approached the alpha for his daughter's hand and was surprised to see the prince of the White Claw kingdom. He proudly introduced his daughter Azil to Amere. When they met, it was instant how their bond snapped into place. He told the alpha his plans to rebuild his kingdom when the alpha chose to join the new king with his people. Now, King Amere purchased new and fresh lands where my kingdom I was born.

Amere and Azil gave birth to a daughter who was very powerful from the womb and named her Icese; a year later, they gave birth to a son named Pierre. They grew up loved and adored by all until the alpha of the Clearwater Pack asked for an alliance by marriage. King Amere denied the marriage proposal because he believed in the mate bond. When queen Azil's beta son turned eighteen and shifted, his wolf was a pearl white with black on his ears, paws, and tail. After Reagan shifted, Icese began to shift, taking everyone by surprise. Their wolves recognized the mate bond, and they approached each other, nuzzling one another. That night, they celebrated with the kingdom because the princess found her mate. The kingdom grew over the years, and because of Icese rule, she did it with such grace people loved her. She gave birth to three children and thought her mate loved her until she found him cheating with the alpha's daughter of the Clearwater Pack. She flew into a rage, killing them both on the spot. She turned dark after she waged war on the Clearwater Pack, losing the love of her people. Her senseless war caused many deaths of pack members, and the families wanted someone to answer for it. King Amere and Queen Azil stepped in to keep the people at bay. Pierre suggested she take a hiatus and spend some time with her children. After they discussed it, they went to see Icese to tell her the plan. When they got to her home, she had killed two of the three children and was attacking the third child. She had lost it when the former king and prince restrained her with their powers. They knocked her out, took her to the cells, and cuffed her with silver. The people wanted justice for their family and the princess and prince. After they laid Jasmine and James to rest, they decided to execute Icese. The King's guard informed her of the decision she'll be executed, and Icese told them she would kill them all if they tried. Two days later, she was executed by the king's guard, but not before she killed twenty members. She was decapitated, telling everyone she would return and make all the descendants pay for their betrayal.)

We can't allow Salina to give birth to her child; we would regret it.

Alpha Victor: P.O.V

As the alpha, I will do what is best for my pack, but we should speak to Salina and appeal to her humanity. If we get nowhere, we follow through with a plan of action. I, for one, am not above protecting my people from danger at all costs.

RAINA'S: P.O.V

Maybe I could mind walk and try to reach Salina's wolf to understand better what she's thinking. Ricky and Semaj quickly protested against my plan. When Luna said, she might be on to something. Why don't we tag-team her thoughts? Have Butterfly mind walk to her wolf? Layna can read her mind. When Luke said we could have the doctor give her a sedative. Ricky spoke and said his wolf was saying his wolf could reach out to the baby's wolf. After discussing it a few more times, we had a plan, and it was time to execute it.
