Many things unveiled (I)

After Rajinder’s funeral people start to return back to their homes. Simon, Ranveer and Rajveer take their leave to attend the meeting with Yash. While they are leaving, Gurpreet holds Simon’s hand and says: “I will never forget what you did for me. thank you so much.” Simon tightens the grip on her hand to reassure that she is there for her anytime. They leave and sit in the car. Three of them are gloomy and worried when Simon says: “I cannot bear to lose you guys. Promise me that you two will never leave me.”

Ranveer says: “We will never leave you in this life and hereafter, but we all need to go one day. Little one you need to understand that.”

Simon makes a cute angry face as she says: “I am not little one. You guys can’t call me that.”

Only these two have the right to see this side of Simon. All other have only seen her as a fighter but these two have seen her at her lowest. She also knows that these two will always be there for her and she can trust them and be herself around them.

Rajveer says with a sly smile on his face: “Yes, you need to understand a lot of things mama.”

Simon gets red while Ranveer makes a disgusting face: “Ewwwwww. You guys just can’t say that in front of me or anyone or public.”

They both give him an annoyed look and stare at him as he says: “What? You have to keep your bedroom business to yourselves.”

They both say in unison: “Ewwww. What are you talking about?”

Ranveer gets surprised and confused: “So, you guys were not talking about that?”

They both shout: “NO.”

Ranveer looks at them in complete confusion: “What were you guys talking about then?”

They give him a known look as he says: “wowowowo, you guys are planning to have a baby?”

Rajveer says with the biggest and the brightest smile on his face: “She agreed, just in the morning.”

Ranveer: “I hope everything goes well this time. I really do. I am so happy for you guys.” Ranveer gives Rajveer a side hug as he says: “I can’t tell you guys about how happy I am.”

Simon: “We know how happy you are. Promise me one thing that you guys will be there for me throughout this journey. I do not wish to have the same experience again. If it takes a year to conceive or ten, you guys will be there.”

Rajveer says: “I will protect you every second and I will not leave you for a moment this time. I promise.” He has a concerned, hopeful and hopeless emotions on his face.

Ranveer: “And I will protect you two. Besides I think it will not take time this time. You guys should focus on the work, and I will pray for the process to be successful. In this way both labor, hard work and prayers will help achieve reward quickly.” He winks as he says that.

Simon: “When are you going to make us happy? When are you getting married?”

Rajveer: “Simon is right. Today I learnt that life is too short to wait. Go ahead and give your best shot, rest is in His hands.”

Ranveer remains silent for a while and then says: “What if it hurts someone you love the most?”

Rajveer: “If they truly love you, they will understand.”

Ranveer says after a sigh: “I will try.”

They all reach the forensic department building and leave their car. The enter the building with such an aura that executes power, confidence, and success. Anyone would become conscious after looking at them. Yash is already in the office. However, he does not flinch a bit. He also knows that he is not less than anyone and no one can match him or his ability. He stands up to welcome the people. He extends his hand to say hello and they all follow the suit. Rajveer notices that he rubs his thumb on Simon’s bank hand as he shakes hands with her. Simon notices that too and pulls her hand back.

Simon says with a straight face: “I think we should start the meeting. After this I have some very important business to attend.” She looks at Rajveer and smiles. Rajveer sees a red hue on her cheeks, and he understood her meaning. He replies to her back with a wink. Yash notices and becomes a little angry. Ranveer is too busy looking at his surroundings that he does not notice the awkward situation between the three people behind him. Yash tries to compose himself and says: “I think we should not rush things as it is a very sensitive matter. There is a lot to discuss.”

Ranveer says with a serious expression: “I think we should begin then.”

Yash: “Ok. Come with me.” He takes them to the morgue and shows them the same things he showed to Simon in the morning. They all have the same view on that one was trying to protect the other and they must have experienced a lot of violence and torture before being murdered. They then come back to the room. Yash goes behind one of the desks and opens up a drawer, he gets out the same brooch that Sameen found in the day.

Ranveer: “Can I look at this one?”

Yash hands it over to him, he gives a closer look and then asks Rajveer: “Do you remember something?”

Rajveer looks at it and then says: “Does not it look like the same brooch that Vijay gave to Sameen before leaving for London?”

Ranveer: “Exactly. However, only Amma can confirm this.”

Simon: “Who is this guy?”

Ranveer: “He was Sameen’s husband and Alia’s father. Sameen and Vijay were the kids of two best friends and were good friends as well. He gifted Sameen a brooch before he went to London when he was ten. The description which Amma gave closely matches this brooch. However, only Amma can confirm if it is the same brooch.”

Simon: “Makes sense.”

Yash: “We would blood and skin on it. This means it was used to scratch someone. Looking at the pointed ends, it can be said that they person might have got a cut. Furthermore, the cut must be deep since the area of the brooch that carries the sample, is a lot. So, I think that the cut must be deep. Also, the cells of the skin match the head area. Which means the person must have a cut either on neck or face.”

Rajveer: “It means one guy was injured and he must had gone to some hospital. We can check the hospitals in the area to see if someone with such injury was seen in last two days. Also, are the reports for the samples that I sent out?”

Yash: “Not yet. The team is working on it.”

Simon: “Did the brooch ahs any fingerprint on it?”

Yash: “Yeah, they matched Alia’s.”

Ranveer: “Self-defense, obviously.”

Yash: “There was one striking thing too.”

They all ask in surprise: “What?”

Yash: “The handkerchief that you guys sent yesterday, had more than one DNAs on it. However, one of them matched with the DNA on the cup that Rajveer sent.”

Ranveer: “Cup?”

Yash: “Rajveer sent a cup yesterday and asked to get the test done and match it with all the DNAs that we found till date. It matched with the one on handkerchief.”

Ranveer: “Whose cup was that?” He directs his question to Rajveer.

Rajveer: “Amma’s”

Ranveer: “Amma’s?”

Rajveer: “I told you that I do not trust that lady, so I sent the cup in which she had tea yesterday here. and see what happened.”

Ranveer: “Only that lady can give answers to a lot of questions.”

Rajveer: “And her house.”

Ranveer: “What do you mean?”

Rajveer: “When we were investigating her house today after Rajinder’s murder, we found a lot of letters there. Some of them were the one sent to her by Vijay, his father-Mr. Gujrial and Sameen’s dad Mr. Luthra. There are still many. However, there is one whose words have faded completely and several other are still left to be read.”

Ranveer: “As per Amma’s neighbor, one of the guys who attacked also had a cut on his face. If both guys are the same, then many things would get on track, and we may be able to find our first suspect. Also, about the letters, did you find anything in them?”

Rajveer: “Most Of them were about Vijay’s feelings for Sameen and the matters we already know. However, one of them referred to an incident which led to Mrs. Gujrial not leaving her room and house for the rest of her life. That incident changed her completely. Also, a guy named Kartik was Vijay’s friend and Sameen’s relative. He and Vijay were the best friends, and he must know something since he used to live in London. If he is alive, he can help with a lot of things.”

Ranveer: “I think we all are on the right track so far. Also, I think Amma needs to tell us a lot especially about Madumati who got disappeared ages ago.”

Rajveer: “Also, Amma told us in the beginning that Vijay was forced to treat Sameen badly because his mother and sister forced him to do so. Later, you said that she said that Mrs. Gujrial loved Sameen when she went to meet her later. Furthermore, in one of the letters it was mentioned that Sameen had a friend who was older than her. The letter also said that she met her when she was a kid, and she was afraid to meet her. Now, if we assume that the lady is Mrs. Gujrial, then we see a conflict here. We have to talk to more people to understand the facts.

Ranveer: “You are right.”

Simon: “Do you have anything else to discuss?”

Yash: “Yes.”

Simon: “Go ahead.”

Yash: “The handkerchief has more than one DNA and we have got those tested. However, we cannot find the matches in our system. Also, Alia suffered a shortage of oxygen before dying. There are no marks around her neck. This means that no one pressed her there. However, she must have been in an area where she suffered oxygen shortage. It must have been for a long time since her lungs started to develop certain patches. Sameen suffered more physical violence than Alia. She also died before her.”

Ranveer: “Do you think that any of the marks on Sameen’s body pertain to violence other than this one. I mean are there any old scars on her body?”

Yash: “No, but Alia did have a scar on her palm. It is from something sharp such as a knife or a dagger. Also, I think you can send the letters here. We will use certain chemicals to make the words visible.” He addresses Rajveer.

Rajveer: “Ok.”

Despite that they both do not like each other; they do not get that in their professional life. They are acting really professional now and do not want their attitudes to impact this important case. They both are great in their respective fields, and they know that.

Yash: “I think we are done for today. Rest, as soon as you all send something here, I will tell Simon about any findings, and she can tell that to you. I hope you all will keep in loop for your findings.”

Ranveer: “Your work is great.”

Yash: “I know.” He shrugs his shoulder as to say that he gets to know that all the time. he then continues: “You are not bad either.”

Ranveer smiles and says: “We will take our leave now. Thank you and goodbye.”

Yash: “Bye.”

Ranveer: “By the way, are you planning to stay here, man?”

Yash: “I will go home after some time.”

Ranveer: “You can join us someday, if you have time.”

Yash looks at Simon and says: “I would love to.” He turns to Ranveer and then Rajveer to not make things obvious. The three leave together and Rajveer puts a hand at the small of Simon’s back as to give a gesture that she is his. Simon looks at him and smile. Yash looks at the two and smirks.
