CHAPTER 2In the spare time he could muster, Frank was somewhat of a fan of mysteries. He watched a few cop shows on television and liked a well-done murder mystery novel or movie. As he sat at his desk and computer, plowing through files and paperwork, typing up reports and struggling through email inquiries, he reflected that in the fictional procedurals, it always seemed as if the cops only had one case at a time to which they could devote their total, undivided attention. That was hardly the true state of affairs for a real detective like himself, he thought.
