CHAPTER THIRTEEN
I arrived home in LA more dazed than I ever expected to be. My world swam disconnectedly around me for at least two weeks. I floated through my job hardly thinking about what I was doing. I even arranged another PBS interview, unruffled by the myriad of details, almost too out of it to care.
Theo returned sometime during those next few weeks, although I don’t remember when. I expected him to call when he arrived home, but I ended up hearing the news of his return from a colleague. He finally called me days later, acting much the way I remembered him before my lock down and retraining.
