Maddison raised her eyebrows and looked at Luz. She hated this woman more now than she had seven years ago. The old lady liked and was always partial to her. More importantly, she brought back an alleged great-grandson of the Maynard Family.
Seeing that Maddison kept directing sarcastic remarks at Luz, the old lady tightened her expression and told her, "If you don't want to have dinner with us, don't. Stop with the comments already!"
Maddison was embarrassed to be scolded like this in front of the youngsters. Her face was red with anger. "Mother, I was just concerned about the two of them."
