As Lyra continued to walk through the thick forest, she thought about where the path would lead her to. She wondered which part of the world she had entered, as she recalled her mysterious encounter with the enigmatic guardian of the forest. This place seemed very magical to her. Seeing the waves of the trees, it looks as if they are alive. The forest gradually narrowed ahead, giving a straight path to a road paved with smooth tar, resorting to the end of the path through the forest. Stepping on the pavement, she looked behind her to have a final glance of the forest, knowing fully well she would be coming back there to seek answers. Turning around, she continued ahead on the smooth tarred road, her footsteps echoed on the pavement as she stepped on the road, her eyes scanning the environment for any sign of civilization. In the distance, she spotted the shape of a city, its tall buildings reaching towards the sky like the last sliver of hope. With each step, her interest grows, pushing her forward towards the city. As she reached the edge of the city, she was amazed at the size of the city gates. The gates were majestic and powerful, with a sign hanging up above that read "New Moon City" in bold letters. Walking through the gate, she was greeted by bustling city activity, like she had never seen before. The streets were busy with the movement of everyone doing their activities, the sounds of people chatting and laughing filled the atmosphere. "Lyra! Lyra, is that you?" The vague sound of her name being called snapped her out of her daydream. Turning around to see who was calling her, she saw unfamiliar faces, yet they seemed to know her. "Oh my gosh, Lyra. Where the heck have you been? We have been worried sick!" Lyra's brow furrowed in confusion as she stared at them, trying to recall any of their faces. "I'm sorry guys, but I don't think I know any of you. How do you know my name?" The people looked at each other, their faces changing from concern to surprise. "What do you mean you don't know us? We have been together for years now." As Lyra was about to respond, she felt a stabbing pain coursing through her head. Strange memories flowed through her mind, memories that did not belong to her. She saw the sight of a life she did not live – a life as a werewolf, and her name was still Lyra. The sudden realization hit her like a big wave. She had been reborn into the body of another person, another species, and another world entirely different from her own, and the lady she was reborn into shared the same name as her. The memories came together into a clear picture. The previous Lyra walked through the forest investigating her mother's mysterious disappearance, when she got ambushed and killed by rogue werewolves. Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm her thoughts. She searched for the home of the previous Lyra in her memories, rushing in the direction, leaving the surprised faces of the people around her in a daze as they stared at her silhouette. Reaching home, she looked for the house key below the flower pot, and opened the door. Stepping in, she walked to the desk and sat down, relieving herself of the whole event that had just played out. The familiarity of the surroundings gave her an odd feeling of comfort, putting her tensed nerves at ease. Sitting at the desk where the previous Lyra had spent countless hours working through her duties, she closed her eyes and focused sternly on her breathing, accepting fate and the new lease on life that she was given. As the evening sun plunged below the view of the city, casting a warm glow through the window, she heard a sound knock on the entrance door, reverting her from her focus. She stood up and walked to the entrance door, twisting the doorknob she opened the door and saw a fair looking young lady. She has a glowing skin, white hair stretched down to her back in a straight style, her green eyes sparkling like emeralds. This was one of her friends, Freya. They had known each other for over ten years now. "Thanks the Moon Goddess you're safe Lyra. We have been looking for you everywhere for the past few days now, where the heck have you been? The others said you didn't recognise any of them. Are you okay, what happened to you? Do you feel sick suddenly? What's wrong?" Freya asked without pause, throwing all questions at once. Freya has always been a person who likes to talk so much. In spite of her talkative behavior, she is a sweet, kind, and playful character. These are her charms for gaining the trust of everyone around her. "Nothing is wrong, Freya. I just went through some bad days, that's all." "Thank the Moon Goddess you remember me. I already thought about everything I will do to jog back your memory. But where have you been all this while, we have been searching all over the city outskirts for the past few days, still we could not find you. Did you encounter any rogues on your way? Did they hurt you anywhere?" As Freya asked the last questions, her expression was filled with concern. "I'm fine Frey, do you need me for anything? You always look for me when you need my help with anything." Freya has a sullen expression as she turns her face and rubs her head like a child who has been caught stealing candy. "How can you say that, of course I came to check up on you. Now you break my heart." She points towards her heart, pouting her face as she looks at Lyra, seeking an apology from her. Lyra laughs at her comedic acts, as she jokingly apologizes. "All right, I'm sorry and I believe you this time. Do you wanna come inside?" She stepped aside, giving space for Freya to come into the house. "Actually, I do need your help with something. Come to the City Square, when you're done with what you're doing. Bye." Freya quickly said as she ran off. Lyra smiled at her playful performance. Closing the door, she went back into the house. But before she walked in, a sharp glint of a sword flashed in her eyes. A distance away from the house, a man in black cloak hid behind the bush, watching every scene of Lyra and Freya.
