For a second, the time seemed to freeze as Annie looked at Grey. " What are you saying to me?" she asked looking at his face.
"We are destined to be mates." He was walking towards her.
"You shouldn't be here. I don't want any trouble, I am just here to fulfil my role and that is what I plan on doing. Please leave!." She said aloud even though she wanted him,
"Mate," she shouted again before she knew it. She covered her mouth and looked into Grey's face.
She saw he wanted her. " I don't know why I have to beg you to be with me. What do you see in my brother?" Grey asked.
"Do I need to answer that?" she fired back at him,
Annie wasn't properly dressed and she wanted to go back in to freshen up a little bit. Grey held her hand "You are just lucky Derrick mistook you for her dead girlfriend. What do you think will happen to you once he finds out you are not her, huh?"
For a moment, Annie was taken aback and contemplated what he said. " I am not doing anything wrong. Am I? I just need him to remember who he was and I will be out of here before you know it. Why do you want to be with me when you rejected me." She asked with her hand akimbo to her waist.
Grey was short of words, as he walked closer to Annie, she retraced her step backward hitting her back against the wall. "Don't tell me you don't want me? I am sure you feel the same way I do."
"I don't know what I am feeling right now. The fact that I am here too.." Annie was about to state why she had come back to the Astral Pack when Derrick walked out of the corner.
He looked at Grey and wondered why he had his girlfriend pinned to the wall. His countenance changed as he increased his pace.
Grey knew how hot-headed his brother was. He quickly drew Annie to him and smiled "It's nice meeting you Annie." he said with a smile on his face.
She played along and nodded her head to the ground a little. "It is my pleasure."
Annie looked at Derrick as he got closer " You didn't bother to wake me up. I had been searching for you." she moved closer to him fixing her gaze on him
Derrick looked at Grey and back at Annie " I am sorry love. I went out to take care of something urgent. Here, I got you this."He handed a rose flower to her
"What do you want in my villa?" Derrick growled at his brother
"Wow! Easy tiger. I just came to see you. How are you feeling now? I heard you miraculously recovered thanks to our angel here." he said and bowed slightly to thank Annie.
"Yeah, I am all better now and don't you have any funny ideas about."
Grey cut him short and looked into his eyes " About what?" he asked with a stern voice.
"About the throne. I heard you wanted to be named Alpha when I am not dead. Do you think you can rule this kingdom?" Derrick snapped.
Annie was lost as she looked at the two brothers who went on shouting and arguing about who was going to take the rightful place on the throne.
"Wow! I can't believe you are saying this to my face. Do you know how long you have been behaving insane? Who kept the kingdoms together? Me!. Who made sure the people were all looked after and protected? Me!. How dare you tell me I am not fit to be the ruler?" Grey was now sweating as he stared into Derrick's face.
"Really, so you believed all this makes a good Alpha. Is that right?" Derrick said with his voice laced with anger. He walked toward Grey and was about to land him a heavy blow when they both heard a sound and looked back.
[ Thud! ]
Annie landed on the cold floor and closed her eyes. She knew she had to do something to divert the brother's attention for a little bit. "Annie! Annie!! Are you alright?" Derrick shouted running back to where she stood
" Call me a doctor!" Derrick ordered a distance maid who was passing by. She looked back at Derrick. " What did you say?" she asked not hearing the order.
"Are you deaf? I said, "Get me a doctor!" He growled revealing his set of fangs. The poor girl ran like a rabbit down to get a doctor.
Grey, who wanted to get a closer view of Annie, walked closer to see what happened to her "Is she alright?" what have you done?" he shouted in anger.
Derrick looked at him and wondered why he was getting walked up over his girlfriend. "What have I done? You know what? Just stay the hell away from Shila. I don't want you near her." he carried her up and took her in leaving Grey at the entrance
Grey was worried and wanted to hear what the doctor had to say. Annie had been a little pale. He wondered why she was but couldn't lay his finger on the reason. Helena stood at a distance and watched how the drama unfolded. One thing she was happy about was that she landed on the cold floor and wished she died.
Grey walked back into his room disturbed. "Is there something on your mind?" Helena asked, pouring herself a drink.
"You want one?" She asked, looking at him.
" Now is not the time to drink and be merry. You just don't know the gravity of what is on the ground." He scowled at her
"Relax". I know you are scared of losing your crown to Derrick. Aside from that, is there anything else on your mind?" Helena tried getting the truth out of him. She had seen the way he looked at Annie and the Grey she knew had never looked at any woman like that.
" Nothing. I just want the crown. He can have the girl to himself. Shila..Annie or wha
tever her name is." Grey said in anger.
