Nia has moved from the giant tome to the computer, to my shock, when I get back. He's staring intensely at the screen as he types away. I can't help but look over his shoulder. He has tabs open to sites meant to find people and their information. The same kinds of sites he had up when I was his target.
Does he have a new target?
"Nia?" I ask as I reach out for him. He startles slightly as I touch his shoulder. A strand of hair falls over his forehead, which he quickly sweeps back. "What's up?" Nia smiles tightly at my question.
"I noticed I was hired to, um," he clears his throat. "Well, I have a new target to take care of." I can't help but shiver at that. How can he sound both nervous yet so callused about that? He was hired to kill someone.
