PLEASE LET ME...

LEAH'S POV I gasped, jolting awake. The ceiling above me was too high, too unfamiliar. The sheets beneath my fingers were impossibly soft. It was nothing like my secondhand mattress. A chill ran through me as I sat up, scanning the massive bedroom. This wasn’t my apartment. Panic surged. I yanked the covers off, my body tense, my heartbeat hammering in my ears. Where was I? How did I get here? I remembered trying to call—Noah. My breath caught as I took in my surroundings. The dark walls, the expensive decor… I knew exactly whose place this was. Carlisle. A cold weight settled in my stomach. No. I needed to leave. Now. I swung my legs over the bed, moving toward the door—only for it to creak open. Carlisle DeLuca stepped inside, his presence suffocating. A man in a suit followed behind him, carrying a black leather case. Carlisle’s cold gaze swept over me. "You're awake. Going somewhere?" I staggered back, my pulse spiking at his voice. "Where am I?" He walked to the nearest chair and sat, completely unbothered. "Somewhere safe." "I want to leave." My voice wavered, my hands shaking. He ignored me, turning instead to the doctor. "That will be all, Doc. I'll be waiting for the results." I watched the doctor leave, the door clicking shut behind him. I should have run. But I stood there, frozen, as if his presence alone had pinned me in place. "Sit, Red." His voice was thick with command. My gaze locked onto him, my chest tightening. His presence always had a way of suffocating me. "I didn’t ask for your protection," I snapped, but my voice came out like a whisper. "I want to leave." "Sit." "I need my phone. I have to call my sister." My throat felt dry as I swallowed. Carlisle stood, moving toward me with slow steps. Each one sent my body recoiling until the back of my knees hit the bed, forcing me to sit. He leaned in, his sharp eyes locking onto mine. "For God's sake, why are you so stubborn?" "I don't think it's legal to kidnap someone and act like it's normal. I want to leave." I said, glaring at him, hoping my gaze could magically send him to hell where he belonged. His smile curled up, almost touching his eyes, and gosh, he had the most beautiful smile. "Kidnap? How can I kidnap the mother of my child?" I swallowed, the word hitting me back to reality. "Even though I have the right to leave if I don't want to." "No. Red. You'd stay here. I give you everything you want because you're mine now." My eyes danced around his brownish hair I met with his honey-brown eyes, lowering to his lips. I took his eyes, "I'm not yours. How can I be?" He leaned away, standing straight. "If you behave. I'll have your phone given to you if you don't— let's pray you don't, Red." "Wait!" I held his hand before he could move, falling to my knees. "Please, let me go. I promise you won't ever see me again. I will stay completely out of your sight." He looked down at me. "You'll need some sleep." It's been two days. I've done nothing but get checked up, eat, drink, and shower. The doctor came regularly to check on me. All I wanted to do was escape. As the evening sun spilt the earth. My door opened, and the lady, Molly, who had been taking care of me, walked in with a plate of fruit again. She was beyond strict and listened only to Carlisle. There was no use talking to her, it would only make things worse. She was perfect; everything she did was perfect, and there was no mistake. She came in, closed the door, and shut it tight afterwards. There was no way left to leave. "If I have any more of that. I'll throw up." I said, side-glancing as she brought it closer. Her feet paused, confusion shimmering in her eyes as she glanced left and right, wondering if she should leave. "Miss Reyes." I turned fully facing her. Then, my eyes caught the door that she had left open. "Mr DeLuca isn't home. He ordered me to give you this, I'm sure you would like it. He also wants me to give you your phone. He will call you soon." I shifted my gaze to her. "My phone?" I tossed the sheets away, got down from the bed and walked to her. I swallowed as if I had been starved, "Where is it?" After handing it to me. Molly walked out of the room. She closed the door, but it bounced not totally closing. I sat on the bed, staring at the floor, waiting. I wasn't sure why my heart was racing as if I was going to do something bad, but I was only planning my escape. It's been twenty-four minutes. I looked towards the door, she should have been gone by now. I got up, walking barefoot towards the door. I stood by it, staring outside. There was no one, and my heart was pounding in my chest. Slowly, I grabbed the knob, pulling it. I stepped out, slowly, too mindful. Everywhere felt still, almost like a graveyard. That wasn't my problem. I needed to find the entrance door and the gates. Once, I'm out, I'd call Noah to pick me up. In seconds, I found the stairs leading downstairs. I never knew I was placed on a higher floor. I rushed down, and the moment I stopped. I found the door. What seemed to be the entrance as I was about to walk towards it. I heard Molly and some men laughing in an area. There was the sound of dishes, and cooking, possibly thr kitchen. The door was slightly opened. I peeped in, and it was safe to pass. I immediately hurried towards the door, opening it and fleeing. In no time, I found the gates. Tears rolled down my eyes as I limped towards it, running with every speed in me. I needed to get there as quick as possible. Oh, God. Please! I begged, hoping I wasn't caught. The gates opened, and I ran. I was free, so I thought. I turned on my phone, running. As soon as it came on, and loaded. I immediately dialled Noah's line. He picked. "Oh God! Noah, please help me, help me! I was kidnapped!" I said, walling. My voice cracking as I spoke. "Do you know where you are?" He asked, I could hear the urgency in his voice. At least someone cared for me. I looked around. "I escaped. I'm running right now. I have no idea." "Turn on your location, Leah. I'll be there soon. Make sure to find a place to hide or stay; I'll wait there."
