Chapter 7

"My mom wasn't better off herself she worked hard too and in a few months time we were able to move out of there. Despite all these there was one thing i didnt do.....i didn't trade my body to any man despite there were many of them promising me a good life if i could just be their mistress. Maybe if i agreed all this could have been averted. Few years later, my mom began to experience slight headaches and took it as a result of stress. But overtime it worsened and sometimes even led to fainting. So, we decided to do a scan and it was diagnosed that she had a brain tumor.

"I was devastated, she began to take drugs to control the spread although we were repeatedly advised to do a surgery but we couldn't afford it. I worked double time trying to safe up the money, but she collapsed this morning and here we are". Martha narrated sobbing. Julia was in tears too 'i will save mom don't worry she consoled Martha who was in her arms. Few days later, Samantha woke up. She was deeply greatful to Julia for saving her life. Now that Samantha was okay, she needed clues to start her revenge quest.

She decided to start with her father's company that was sold to her enemies. The company was doing very well and this left Julia wondering if it was still the same company that was at the brink of collapse. Today, she was dressed in a cooperate suit and clutching a fake curriculum vite and certificates that Niles had forged for her. She must confess that Niles is very skilled that you could hardly tell the forged documents from real ones.

As she stepped out of the taxi, she pulled out the note read it and headed into the company with determined steps. She summited her CV and she was told to wait for a call from the company. Few days later, she received a call that she has been given the post of a secretary she had applied for. She smiled lightly and whispered..... 'Let the game begin......' She was asked to resume work the next day which she did. She went though the interview smoothly living up to her fake identity that by the end of the interview, she began to wonder why she wasn't an actress! She got the job and worked with the best of her ability balancing her both jobs with ease.

Meanwhile she encouraged Martha to go back to school, and told Samantha not to work as she took care of her. But Since she started working at the company, she hasn't gotten any helpful clues because the only person that visited the company was a woman named Rosemary and her voice didn't in anyway match with the voice in her head. That voice that called her father at the hospital telling him to give up, she could never forget that evil voice in her life. Days ran into weeks and weeks into months...... Nothing still! Julia grew desperate. Then she remembered! Samantha's story stated that her enemy was also the owner of star life club.

She smiled evilly and dressed into a skimpy and revealing gown, applied her make up a bit more heavily and headed to star life club. When she got there, she had to register and buy a membership card before she was granted entry. Although it was expensive and valid for a period of time, she just gritted her teeth and let it go. She got in and began to order drink upon drink but nothing spectacular happened. When she felt herself getting drunk, she decided to leave. As she got to the door, she was stopped by a handsome young man, obviously a young heir who was drunk.

"Hey damsel! You look so beautiful how about we spend the night together? I promise i will be gentle on you. He spluttered reeking of alcohol. Julia was disgusted but she politely turned him down and hurried away. But she continued visiting the club hoping one day she will find clues. But after almost being sexually harassed by wealthy spoilt heirs who frequented the bar, she decided to stop going. She began to lose hope, but one day luck smiled on her. It was announced that someone very powerful from the headquarters was coming to address a very important issue at the branch.

Julia was crazy with excitement! She hoped fervently that she will find clues from the meeting because she was allowed to attend as the financial secretary. As the day for the meeting drew closer, her excitement mounted as she beamed with smiles everywhere she went. Her anticipation grew when few days to the meeting she heard the person coming was a young girl who had been part of the company since she was fourteen. Julia was stunned!

Julia was so eager to see the legend that on the day of the meeting, she came one hour earlier. She quickly tided up the conference room even though it wasn't her job. When her colleagues arrived and saw how saw how spik and span the room was they gasped in amazement complimenting who ever cleaned it. When by 9 the lady hasn't still arrived, she became anxious and began to ask her colleagues when the lady will be coming. Her colleagues surprised by her enthusiasm began to ask if she knew the lady before. 'No I don't' she replied gazing into space to the surprise of her colleagues.

As they spoke, a convoy of vehicles drove into the company. All the workers quickly assembled at the entrance of the company to welcome her. First an array of bodyguards came in then followed by a young pretty girl about Julia's age. Julia's mouth dropped open in shock! The lady was a carbon copy of her! A replica! If not Julia's hair was left flowing and the other girl hair was packed up in a tight bun and she had a cold and strong aura around her unlike Julia warm and friendly demeanor, the co workers who have mistaken her for Julia.

The lady didn't even glance at them not to talk of answering their greetings. She simply walked past and headed straight for the conference room as if she had been there before. The works were stunned, they clustered around Julia asking if the girl was her sis and what her name was. But Julia is too dumbfounded to answer, seeing no answer forthcoming they decided to let her be.
