Chapter 6

NINE YEARS LATER..............

Julia alighted from the plane alongside other Passengers. She looked around, the country hasn't really changed much.....except some little new developments. Julia sighted heavily. This country brought back memories.....sad and bad memories. A tear dropped from her eyes. She quickly cleaned it up and pulled out the note, that note.......she had kept it all this years waiting for revenge! "Mom watch as I get revenge for you and dad! She muttered under her breath and pulled her luggage behind her.

As she walked, a young man approached her eagerly " are you miss Julia? He asked. She nodded. "This way please" he led her to a taxi, opened the door and took her luggage, put it in the booth and drove off. Julia began to call her friend and fellow doctor Niles who also relocated to that city but few weeks earlier than her. "Hello the beautiful one and only......! Doctor Julia. .....! He teased over the phone. This made her blush a little. "Oh stop being childish Niles! Thanks for the ride, have you been able to book the apartment?" 'Sure thing baby! I've! Anything for you" Niles replied. 'Silly boy!' Julia mocked him and hanged up on him.

Niles was very effective and great! The apartment was furnished to suit a girl's taste.

As she put and arranged her things in order, her phone rang again. "Hey baby Julia! The city general hospital has agreed to let you work......! Goodnews right? Niles shouted enthusiastically from the other end. Julia sighted this Niles is such a handful! But helpful though. "Yeah Niles! That's good news! Thank you so much I can finally settle down in the city!" Julia replied happily. "I will do anything for you jully girl take care of yourself i will text or call you later okay?" Niles said pouting. "Alright daddy!" Julia mocked and hanged up.

She had a shower, took her lunch and soon she was asleep. The next day, she was called by the hospital to resume work. She was so thrilled ! She quickly prepared and hurried there. When she got there, she ran into Niles at the corridor. "What are you doing here"? She asked in surprise because Niles was also dressed in His coat. "I work here too silly billy" he mocked her and pushed her into the MD's office before she could question him further. After finishing her clearance, she was then given the license to operate at the hospital. She worked hard with the best of her ability and knowledge for a full week.

Then she took a week off but she wasn't granted because she wasn't a part time surgeon. So she applied for part timing even to the detriment of her pay, but she didnt mind because her mission must be completed. First, she went to the Marcus's villa but she learn that they no longer lived there since the death of Marcus. "Marcus died?' Julia asked herself in shock feeling pity for him because without him, she wouldn't have acquired her dream of leaving the city. Her next port of call was her family villa, but it has been sold out too and the money shared among the family. The company was sold too to the same company her father refused to partner with that had an unknown boss.

Julia was lost and confused, how will she get a clue or lead on where to find her parents killers? All hope seemed lost until one day.......... She was relaxing at home because it was her day off. When suddenly her phone rang startling her, she picked up. 'Hello Doctor Julia there is an emergency at the hospital and doctor Niles is not in the country!' Came a panicked voice on the other end. 'Oh silly Niles' she thought. 'Got it! She replied and hung up.

When she got to the hospital, the nurse began to lead her to a ward instead of the operating room. 'Wait! Why hasn't the patient be moved to the operating room'? She asked. 'The patient said she can't afford a surgery, so she's looking for alternative ways'. The nurse said and shrugged her shoulders.

When she entered the ward the person she saw almost made her faint 'Martha!' She intended to shout but her voice failed her and she ended up whispering it. Martha looked up, she was a ghost of her former self. Her cheeks were shucked and her eyes too, her lips were dried and cracked. When she saw Julia, a strange light flashed through her eyes. 'What happened' Julia asked stumbling towards her. Martha bit her lips, shook her head and pointed to the bed. 'Save mom' she whispered in a cracked voice. It was then Julia realized that the person lying on the bed was Samantha! She was a shadow of her former chubby self, she was now miserably thin and sickly. Right now she was unconscious.

Julia quickly mobilized the nurses and the assistant doctors and Samantha was wheeled into the operating room. Few hours later, Julia came out looking weary and tired. She saw Martha seating on a chair by the operating room dozing off. Julia felt her heart tightened, she walked up to Martha and hugged her startling her out of her sleep. 'How is she? She asked Julia. 'She is fine, she will wake up soon' she reassured Martha. Martha nodded silently looking at Julia hopefully.

Julia nearly busted into tears 'Martha what happened? Why are you looking like this? I went to your villa and was told it was sold' Julia said in between tears. Martha smiled a little and patted on the space beside her gesturing Julia to seat down she complied immediately."'After you left, my mom and i were heartbroken but since you promised to be okay, we never stopped praying for your safety. But a year later, tragedy struck my dad was killed! He was shot dead during the election period by the opposing party on his way to an official assignment. Then the family divided, the other wives having a upper hand, took all the properties leaving us destitute. They sold the family villa and absconded with the money".

"But Raina was lucky to fall in love with another wealthy business man and didn't bother dragging for my father's properties. My mom and i had no where to go, so we went to her family house and began to live there. I stop schooling and worked hard to get us of there because jealousy and malice thrives even more than my family."
