lunch time*

Today sucks. All the people that i use to hang out with last year ended up going to another school. So here i am sitting at the same table i use to sit in alone. Its fine though, as long as no obnoxious/annoying people sit next to me. I mean just look at the bright side, next year I'll go to college and I'll finally get away.

"You don't mind if i sit here right? no. ok cool".

"Why ask if your going to do whatever you want to begin with." i said.

"Well you took too long to answer."

"You didn't give me a chance to answer."

She just looked at me without saying anything back.

"So what's your name?

"Akame. And you?

"David. You have gained a big reputation around here." She looked at me confused. "because of the fight with Ashley."

"Oh. That. That girl seems to be some kind of big shot around here."

"Mmm she kind of is."

"She is? How? Is she rich or something?

"Well technically everyone that comes to this school is a little rich, or comfortable."

"Ha. don't make me laugh."

"Aren't you comfortable? i asked her.

"I'm good."

"What do your parents do."

"What do you mean?

" what kind of jobs do they have?

"Well my moms an assistant manager at a restaurant, and don't ask me anything about my dad."

" Is he dead?

"Mmm i guess you could say that, i don't know the guy apparently he walked out on us when i was younger."

"Oh. sorry about that."

"Its fine i dont really care."

"So your mom works at a restaurant?

"Yeah."

"Does she own any restaurants?

"We wish, that would be nice."

"How exactly did you get into this school?

"Well my mom is the one who arranged all of this, i didn't choose my school she did. I just didn't really care to choose since is my last year anyway, and its also not that far from our new house."

"Hmm."

"So what about you? she asked.

"What about me?

"I Just shared half of my life with you, you have to tell me something's about you now."

"What do you want to know?

"Are you "comfortable"?

*chuckled " I mean i guess?

"You guess. That's something a rich person would say. She said laughing which made me laugh. Weird... she made me laugh, normally i wouldn't be hanging out with people like her, but there's something about her. I want to know everything there is to know about her, but why? what is this feeling?

The rest of the time we had for lunch, we waisted talking. Turns out me and her have a few things in common, like for example, we both like dogs. When she told me that i almost choked. IF ONLY SHE KNEW!!! That's literally what i said in my head. We both like Italian food, love winter, and playing sports. She's a very active person and she likes the color red. Which makes sense,considering her name. It turns out that we also have 4 classes together, which is cool i was kind of hoping to spend more time with her. Time when fast and... today didn't really suck after all.

*click I hear the the front door opening and i hurried to it. I don't know what i was expecting when i saw her, but there she was. With a bruised face and a guilty look.

"Mom. Did Mr.williams call you?

"Yes he did. What where you thinking starting a fight."

"Wow. what? I didn't —

"I can't believe you fought someone ON THE FIRST DAY!!!!

"Mom it wasn't like that i—

"I nothing. There is no excuse for this."

"Would you please just listen to me!!! I was so mad but yelling was making things worse, i decided to give her a chance to explain. i looked at her with one eyebrow up.

"So. explain."

"I get that it was the first day, but you know i would never start a fight. I don't know who this girl is but she clearly doesn't like me. All i did was defend myself the way you taught me.

i take a breath and i ask her...

"Did you at least win?

she laughed* "No. but i did strike her a few times."

i smiled at her.

"Good."

"Well besides all that craziness that happen, i did meet someone. His name is David."

"David? A boy?

"Yes mom he's a boy, he is also my new friend...I think. I mean we talked alot and we seem to hit it off so... yeah.. i think we are friends."

"See. I told you that you would."

*sigh "Yeah. i know i just miss my old friends, i knew then forever and it was hard saying bye."

"I know hun. I'm sorry you had to do that. I looked her in the eye praying that she would she how serious and how much i love her, and said...

"I would do anything to keep you safe."

"I know mom, but I'm safe you don't always have to worry about me."

I wish i could tell her the truth. I wish she knew everything, but that can never happen. She's too brave. My brave girl. I don't want her getting hurt. If i have to keep hiding her i will. If i have to die for her i will. If i have to keep lying and hiding the truth from her i will... Even if that makes her hate me.
