Chapter8

Jordan’s Point of View My quest for Zane's whereabouts had caused me to travel to a whole lot of places. I could say that was actually the craziest adventure I had ever undergone in my life, all through my eighteen years of existence. All in all, I was still in doubt about my ability to lead a clan, as the Chief Elder had stated earlier. I mean, how do I f*****g oversee a clan's activity when I can't protect even the least of my loved ones? It's obvious that leadership isn't magic. You know, I needed this adventure to learn that, as a leader, one must engage the power of coalition and partnership. This is one of the reasons why some weak packs are annihilated easily: they lack partnership. But how was I really going to achieve this? I gulped, motioning my hands into my already unkempt hair as a result of my unending adventures and with my thoughts racing fiercely while contemplating my next line of action. Although mind-linking wasn't an achievable ordeal outside the clan, I decided to try. Who knows, luck may shine on my already stressed head, thereby solving the issue at hand. “Hi Flynn, are you there?” I got no response, so I decided to try a second option, which was Zoe, our clan's elder; the same wasn't feasible. Well, I’m in the middle of nowhere; mind-linking was a futile activity to undertake. “But I thought, due to civilization, everyone now had access to communicating even without mind-linking. Okay, you can try it out yourself, I jabbed. Such was my ordeal. I often get to tease and answer myself at times, and I'm used to it, especially when Zane is away. After a series of calculated actions without any iota of any visible solution, it seemed the last option available was to shift back home. My horse was already in desperate need of water and absolutely tired, and riding on a horse during this period may be dangerous as the rogues paraded themselves at every corner of the forest. Shifting would give me easier ground to run at a faster pace, free from the rogues’ trouble. Not as if I couldn't fight, but at this stage I was already exhausted after searching for Zane. Thus, I glanced around, observing the various paths around its environs. I uncloaked and exhaled deeply as I raised my hands, suspending it in the cloud. This is the procedure we normally undergo to shift, with uplifted hands as it shows a sign of being given to mysteries as a first class member of the Lightsteel Ocean Clan. The forest was huge, though different from the dangerous woods. I had observed a cyclic spot radiating direct sunlight from the atmosphere. Though the sunlight made it more conspicuous, I noticed there was an element of silver directly pointed at by the sun, giving it that exceptional radiance. While my hands were suspended in the atmosphere, I shriveled with shouts of agony, but surprisingly, I was transformed, not into my wolf but into a similar figure to me, but with brazen wings, shining from its reflection in the sun. It arose, turned in a cyclic motion, and finally became still. The clouds suddenly got darkened, breeding rain from the sky, which emitted a kind of ice-like liquid with associated blue fire burning fiercely and was never quenched by the water. The earth suddenly erupted, causing a destabilizing earthquake in our midst. "Greetings, great one,” he bowed. Of particular note was its constant replication of itself, which swiveled repeatedly before finally halting at the tenth replication. As startled as I was at the sight of the replicated creatures, I struggled to remain strong and calm, but my strength failed, thereby causing me to shiver, with my legs turning weak as if their bones had been detached from their framework. It tingled, and I was suddenly swept off my feet, landing directly on the ground. What could be the reality of these creatures, and what could their appearance presage? Does it mean my wolf has transformed into a supernatural being or what? I was lost in thought. “I know you're worried and confused.” The first was voiced out. It walked afloat over to me and got hold of my hand, reigniting my strength and helping me up to my feet. He looked seamless, though engraved with strength and boldness and with the purest form of tranquility that transcends into the soul. They all joined their voices in unison. “Yours is that of a supernatural birth, and we are here to brief you on your destiny assignment.” “Firstly, it was planned and destined that you'd come to this ground for your induction and ritual. This is the birthplace of spirit wolves who have maintained reputable records in the past, and you've been chosen as next in line for this great feat. Was I dreaming? I assumed, or could I be in a state of delusion? I couldn't help but imagine. But hell no, it's not a dream but reality. I could barely stand; my strength erupted at each piece of information, causing my being to burn like a furry furnace. All I wanted was to find Zane, and that's all. Was that too much to ask? “You're worried about your friend, Zane, they muttered. Well, he'll be out of your reach until you fulfill the prophecy of your destiny.” The goddess knows your alliance with him will bring the doom of the clan; therefore, your separation. So don't worry; he'll be fine. “Wait!” I exclaimed, summoning the courage to ask. “What if I'm not interested in this? I just want to live my normal life like everyone else. I explained. "You have no choice of your own; our destinies are determined by the goddess. And you'll be guided duly.” "Your alliance will bring you to your mate, and together, both shall rule the werewolf kingdom with light and grace.” "But remember, you're different and can manipulate anything you imagine into existence, but never remember.” “Never misuse your power!” I observed their gradual disappearance into one until all were fully off except one. He repeated, “Never misuse your power!!” and shriveled again, leaving me behind. This time around, the earth's turmoil was rekindled, causing a destabilizing shout as the creatures made their way into my body once more. “Goooo in peace and take your rightful place.” It echoed. “Remember, never misuse your powers.”.
