Jordan’s point of view
This time around, I was ordered to sit. I couldn't believe I was sitting on a throne; this was enough to raise my ego and throw me off guard, but when I remember my ordeal, I kept mute and only asked for grace and capability.
“Sit on your throne of majesty,” the Chief Elder ordered, to which I obliged.
Next, I was handed over a golden-coloured staff that was smooth in appearance and kind of felt delicate. This signified authority and power. Secondly, a cap of honour with the inscription of Lightsteel Ocean Clan boldly crafted was set on my head; this also signified dignity, and lastly, a golden-coloured ring was fixed directly into my index finger, which was symbolic of royalty.
Immediately, the ring was affixed to my finger, and the bright cherry sky suddenly grew darker, causing the whole atmosphere to be thrown into deep turmoil.
I could sense a clash in the atmosphere. Was there opposition to my ordination as the clan's head? All of a sudden, my vision opened up, and I was immediately startled at the sight of two dragons who were seriously engaged in a fight with each other.
Though the first had severe cuts all over its body, it was still strong and powerful enough to fight. She had golden wings and didn't take long when she flew high, back into the Cliff. She was still followed by the second black dragon into the cliff; thus, the attack became more intense as I snapped out into the normal world.
This must be a revelation about an impending doom in the clan, which I'm unaware of. This sphere of worry encircled me, thus awakening my worried state again.
Maybe my worried state may have caught the chief elder's attention, causing him to walk a bit closer. He whispered some words into my ears and later retracted after a bow.
“Long live your majesty.” He yelled,
Long live your majesty! The whole crowd responded.
The chief elder stepped back again and roared.
“Remember, your responsibility is enormous; stay strong and never give up on your pursuit of purpose.”
He turned and vanished into thin air, laughing from wherever he was. “I am done with my role in the Lightsteel Ocean Clan; continue from where I stopped,” he said through a mind-linked. Move on.
The atmosphere suddenly regained its normalcy. I was scared though, but as a leader I'd been installed now, I needed to make sure I kept the clan safe.
Thus, I quickly brushed through an address for my clan, gave a speech, and proceeded to call out my intentions for the clan, which was followed by a wild cheer from each member's presence.
As of now, I could see the once moody crowd gradually regaining their cheerfulness. This year's celebration was an epoch, as many signs displayed in the square already indicated the significance of the coming events, which was for the good of the pack.
My further instructions finally set the crowd ablaze as I towered. “Let the celebration begin!!!” Thus, we are alert to the beautiful and colourful display of all the rich and vast cultural heritage of our clan.
After the former three groups, a display of skills was also included among the performances to be witnessed.
Heavy-bodied men, well-built and with muscular figures, proceeded to the square, each threatening to throw down the other in a battle. The wrestling continued, with each winner taking turns with another fellow. Finally, a final winner was pronounced and declared the heavyweight champion of the clan. This also added another level of fun and colour to the occasion as the jubilant crowd jumped in jubilation in celebration of the winner's victory.
The last group consisted of a group of women, chattering words of praise excitedly on the installed clan head. You would say that their chattering showed that of an already exalted figure when, in context, the real me was already shivering in my position.
To confirm my fears, a sudden flip of rogues parading the atmosphere suddenly distorted the occasion. These were similar to the rogues that vanished with Zane.
"Everybody, stay where you are, restrict every form of movement for now, and stay together.” I shouted out, taking charge of the entire scenario.
I needed to confirm if anyone had been abducted; thus, I ordered a quick scan by the enforcers.
“Check around you and confirm if there's anybody missing; do that quickly,” I ordered while retracing my steps to the throne in order to think of a proper solution for stopping the attack as it was getting out of hand.
Was it only our clan that was affected by these attacks? or were other packs affected too? Seriously, it was getting annoying and out of hand.
Flynn walked close, and I could observe the displeasure in his eyes.
“We’ll be subject to so much attack by these rogues if we relax without a proper control strategy. Let me know if you have any plans at hand.”
Thus, he walked away angrily, leaving the fearsome wolves in the care of a fearful head who needed as much pampering as any other person now.
He never walked too far when he mind-linked me to his location. “Something urgent needs your attention," he said. ”
What could that be? Can't it wait? He hesitated and insisted I come along.
When I left, the people followed suit; maybe they were scared of being left alone. But what was seen was even more fearful.
Zane has been toasted to the bush dead. This sight alone gave me the worst goosebumps of my life. So, finally, he was dead, and the only way he could be disposed of was to drop him on a path? I felt terribly disgusted.
Apparently, this was what the young teen saw that messed with his mental health and made him unable to talk.
Flynn took me aside. Why didn't you get back with him to the square? Let's see if he could be rescued on time, as he was the only one who knew about the Lycans and the girl in the woods.
The rogues attacked and disappeared with him. I had searched everywhere and even tried mind-linking you, but there was no means to reach out to you. I pleaded.
On my day of coronation, my best friend was found dead. Gosh, that memory will remain forever. Thus, I vowed never to let that rogue exist, even if it would take that last amount of my strength.
