I laugh before looking around.
“Don't you think it's a little too late for that, Dad? We have already passed the stage of asking each other for forgiveness. It took so much for you to ask me for forgiveness, and I am no longer interested in granting that forgiveness. All you should do is be thankful that I came to visit you.”
“I am very thankful. You are the only one who has ever bothered to come and see me, ever since I was jailed. Everyone hates me, and they wouldn’t dare to do so.” He says it hurriedly as he smiles at me. He is all giddily and worried. There is so much pain hidden behind that smile.
