Chapter 11 Awakening

“Right there, sir! Reborn is fighting the level 6 dungeon boss!” Anton said while Val worriedly followed behind. “I hope he is still alive!” Trekka mumbled. “If it is only level 6, Reborn can probably hold on for long.” Val said but still he thought for the worst. “It’s already been two hours; do you really think he is still okay?” Trekka asked pessimistically. ‘Let us just hope and pray for Shacannah’s protection.” Val said. “I will ask you again, are you sure it’s a dungeon boss? This is only the first level. There should not be any boss here! Did you mistake an orc or a hobgoblin? They come here to grind levels and gain battle experience as well.” “We are very sure, sir!” Anton replied. “There was even a stone door made from Pathon!” “That should not be possible!” Val muttered. A few moments after, they arrived at the scene. They saw the bloody mess and the ape’s corpse. “It really is a level 6 Club Ape! How did it get here?” Val mumbled. “Reborn is not here!” Anton exclaimed. “Wow! He killed it!” He muttered in surprise. “Look, there is no door anymore! Do you think Reborn went down?” Trekka pointed. “Let’s go to the second level. We will know if Reborn is there.” Val said. ================ Reborn woke up in a dark and damp place. “Where am I?” he mumbled. “Oh, you finally woke up.” A voice said. Reborn got up, startled by the voice. “Who’s there?” He asked. “Calm down and sit.” The voice said. “Where are you? Show yourself!” Reborn said and made a Thorn Shield around him. “Calm yourself and sit down. I am not your enemy!” The voice tried to convince him. “Ha! Look down!” it said. Reborn did what the voice told him and saw a red flower on the ground. “Eh? A flower?” “I am not! I am only using this to talk to you!” it said. “Huh?” “Did you lose your memory? Oh, you did!” The flower mumbled. “Who are you? Why did you bring me here? And where is this place?” Reborn asked. “Alright, I will restore your memory. Please hold on to your pants; this will probably hurt.” “Huh? Wait! Wait!” A spray of light shrouded Reborn in an instant. “Ahh!” Reborn screamed at the top of his lungs. The pain was so excruciating that he felt his head will explode. “Ting! Memory is too large to process and store. Converting all Attack and Defense Points to increase Memory Bank.” “Ting! Memory Bank leveled up.” “Ting! Memory Bank leveled up.” “Ting! Memory Bank leveled up.” “Ting! Memory Bank leveled up.” “Ting! Memory Bank leveled up.” “Ting! Memory Bank leveled up.” “Ting! Memory Bank leveled up.” “Ting! Memory Bank leveled up.” “Ting! Memory Bank leveled up.” “Ting! Memory Bank skill leveled max. Proceeding to skill evolution.” “Ting! Memory Bank skill evolved to Memory Bank I.” “Ting! Memory Bank I leveled up.” “Ting! Memory Bank I leveled up.” “Ting! Memory Bank I leveled up.” “Ting! Synchronizing unknown memory to current. 10%... 30%.... 50%...79%... 100%. Memories synchronized.” ================= After several hours, Reborn woke up with a severe headache. “Man, what just happened?” He mumbled. “f**k, the building collapsed, and I was sucked into that vortex! s**t! Am I dead?” He muttered as he suddenly remembered everything. “Good. You remembered.” The flower interjected right then. “You. It was you!” Reborn pointed at the flower. “I remember your voice!” “Yes, it was me. I saved you and brought you here.” It said. “Where exactly is…” he stopped when a flood of memory surfaced in his mind. “Damn! I came out from some fruit?” “Hm, some fruit, you say?” the flower mumbled. “What happened to my body? Why did I become a child?” He asked. “Oh, that. Something went wrong during your transfer. Your body, unfortunately, was destroyed but I managed to send your soul here.” It explained. “Oh, okay…” Silence… “WHAT?! What do you mean my body was destroyed?!” “Someone interfered during the transfer and your body got destroyed. You should be thankful that I managed to save your soul!” The flower said. “Anyway, I don’t have much time. My enemies already noticed my actions and they will send their apostles soon. You must leave that village and find my sister fast!” it said firmly. “The village… right. Are those apostles strong?” He asked, he remembered everything now. His name, real name. His family on Earth and his mother in the Sprite Village. His classmates and friends. And he remembered he has special powers in this world he was in. He thought maybe he can fight those apostles. “Are you thinking of fighting them? Wow, you are brave, but you can’t fight them. It is impossible. They are too strong.” The flower said. “Then, what should I do? Hide? How do I find your sister then?” “I don’t know where that damned deity imprisoned my sister, but you can probably find some clues in the human empires. The Holy Tree religion should have some historical records about us. However, you should not reveal any connection to me, or you are dead.” The flower said. “You should leave that village, a human living with the sprites is an anomaly, more so, you are in Avalund, the most dangerous place for a human to be. If the apostles catch you there, it will not only be you that will be destroyed, all of them will be.” Reborn thought hard then said, “You are right, I should leave the village. But, as I am now, I am too weak. You said Avalund is the most dangerous place for a human, how do you think will I survive?” “That is why you are here. It is a good thing that you went inside this dungeon. It is shrouded from the notice of those deities, so I can appear and speak to you.” It said. “So, I am still in Borina cave? Right, you dragged me to level 2.” Reborn said as he remembered. “Oh, right, I forgot. You are in level 10.” The flower revealed. Silence. Silence. Silence. “What the hell!? Why did you bring me straight to here?! I am only level 4! The monsters here are four times, no, maybe five times my level!” Reborn complained. “Stop complaining, I gave you a gift, so it won’t be hard for you. Don’t believe me? Open your status and let me see it.” The flower ordered. Reborn was not convinced but he still opened his status screen. “How do I let you see it?” “No worries, I have my ways.” The flower said and viewed Reborn’s status. Name: John Arcala [ - Armor Plate (Inactive) (56% Damaged)] Level: 4 (Exp. 38.77%) Race: Human Class: Worm Age:  1 month Health: 12120 Mana: 17260 AP: 5718 DP: 8740 (+15) Strength: 32 (+300) Dexterity: 12 (+300) Intelligence: 100 (+508) Vitality: 101 (+505) Wisdom: 50 (+290) Agility: 15 (+312) Active Skills: Telekinesis (Lv.5), Float (Lv.3), Divine Light (Broken), Sprint (Lv.2), Force Shield (Lv.4), Meditation (Semi-passive/Level 3), Parkour (Lv.3), Hard Punch (Lv.3), Skull Bash (Lv.2), Appraisal (Lv.3), Sink (Lv.1), Hold Breath (Lv.1), Swim (Lv.1), Energy Control (Lv.1), Area Sense (Lv.1), Thorn Shield (Lv.1), Thorn Coffin (Lv.3) Passive Skills: Universal Language (Max), Fear Resistance (Lv.1), Pain Resistance (Lv.2), Memory Bank I (Semi-active/Lv.3), Illusion Resistance (Lv.1) Title: ▀□◙Ϊǽ¤╨ (Awakened), Tatiana’s Son, Contracted [!], Reborn, Coward, Worm, First Kill Title Skill: Danger Sense (Passive/Lv.4) Status points: 0 ============= “WHAT IS THIS?!” The flower exclaimed in surprise. “What?” “Why the hell is your status like this? This is too abnormal! This is a status of a level 500 or above! And what skill is this? I can’t read it! What the hell is this?” the flower asked in wonder and surprise. “Why are you so surprised? I thought you gave me a gift?” John asked with some disbelief. “I did! The contract gives you 100 of Vitality points, 100 of Intelligence points and 50 of Wisdom points! That’s all! However, why the hell is it like this? And you are still level 4!” The flower blurted. “You can even kill a dragon as you are now!” “What? I can?” John thought, he can’t even properly kill that ape. “Have you never tried to use your strength? Did you just rely solely on your skills this entire time?” The flower asked. John thought hard, he was alive in this world for only a month now. “Come to think of it, I really did not. When I was fighting with those bats, I used my armor’s Armor Shooter. The only time I used my strength is in the dreamworld during the survival test.” John walked towards the wall and tried to punch it. “BAM!” The wall cracked and a large hole was made from his simple punch. “What the hell!? Damn!” He was surprised as well. “I did that?” “Hm… maybe you can fight those apostles. No, your skills are not on par.” The flower mumbled. “Hey! After I rescue your sister, you can send me back to my world, right?” John asked. “If it’s just me, I can’t, but with my sister, we can send you back for sure.” The flower said. “Alright.” John walked out from the room and went to explore the dungeon floor. ================= In the sprite village, the Grand Scholar faced the council and the King with Anton and Trekka. “Tell us what happen.” A council elder spoke. “We were exploring Borina cave and looking for the path to level 2 when a level 6 Borina Club Ape appeared and attacked us.” Anton told them. “That is true. Reborn fought it for us to run away.” Trekka supported. “Hm. A level 6 on the first floor of Borina Cave? That never happened before.” Elder Mishap commented. “And you said there was a Pathon door?” another elder asked. Anton and Trekka nodded. “Other races must have intruded on our territory in the dungeon and left it there.” Another elder voiced out. “Send someone to investigate the dungeon.” The King ordered. “Have you found the kid?” he asked Val. “No.” Val replied weakly. “That’s unfortunate. Well, for one, he proved to be not a threat. He did save those two voluntarily by sacrificing himself.” The King said slowly. “Let Tatiana serve in the Father tree as a Royal Maid. It is the reward I can give to her on behalf of her son’s bravery.” The King ordered. “Val, stay for a while.” The King said. “All of you leave the room.” The elders and the soldiers all heeded the King and went out. “Are you sure the kid is dead?” the King asked. “Honestly, my King, I am not. I have not found his body or trails of any fighting in the second level.” Val said. “He won’t just disappear like that. So, what do you really think happened?” “Someone took him.” Val said. “What do you intend to do?” The King asked. “I want to find him, but I know I can’t leave the village.” Val said slowly, “I leave it to fate. That kid is strong; I know he won’t back down. He will come back soon enough.” Val said. “Well, I hope you are right. Although, I honestly do not want him back here. No offense to you, Grand Scholar, but I feel something bad about the kid. I can’t tell what it is, though.” The King said. Val bowed to the King and left after that. =============== “Bam!” “Boom!” “Ting! Level 21 Borina Clown Wolf killed. 5.75% Experience points gained.” After an hour, John’s level went from level 4 to level 15, then it slowed down a little. “Man, I did not even break a sweat. The monsters here are too weak.” He mumbled. True enough, he can one-shot kill the monster in the floor with his strength. However, he noticed that his skills levels stagnated. He did not use any of it, so none leveled up. He also did not learn any new skills. Unfortunately, when he tried to use his skills to kill the monster, it took so long before he can kill them. His Telekinesis skill is not strong enough to hold or slam a level 20 and above monster. His Force Shield cannot hold for even a minute before breaking. The Thorn Shield and Thorn Coffin are also ineffective against the level 20 and above monsters. The thorns cannot penetrate their skin. The only skill that worked is the Hard Punch and Skull Bash skill. “I wonder why Hard Punch and Skull Bash did not work this way before?” He thought. Before he knew about his true strength, even when he used those skills, he could never one-hit kill a level 3 and above monsters. But now that he is aware of his strength, it changed drastically. “Does the mindset affect the efficiency of skills? I thought I was weak, so my output is also weak. Is that it?” He thought. Before he knew it, a day has passed. John did not bother looking for the entrance to the next floor. He decided to raise the levels of his skills. “Ting! Telekinesis skill leveled up.” “Ting! Area Sense skill leveled up.” “Ting! Parkour skill leveled up.” After fighting 15 monsters of level 21-22, he finally heard the good news. “Man, this is hard work! These skills are hard to raise.” He complained. He explored the entire 10th floor of the dungeon and killed monsters along the way. “Thud!” A bone club hit the Force Shield around him. John thought of encasing himself in his Force Shield all the time during his exploration. “My turn!” John yanked the monster which looked like a minotaur towards him with telekinesis, then, “Thorn Shield, Form 2! Drill Shield!” Using his Energy Control skill, Reborn transformed the shield into a drill-like shape. The minotaur monster was pulled onto the drill and was stabbed on its stomach. “Drill Shield: Tornado!” The drill-like shield spun fast and tore the minotaur into bits. “Ting! Level 23 Borina Bukau-Moo killed. 5.75% experience gained.” “Ting! Skill Creator title acquired.” “Ting! Skill Creator title grants +15 Intelligence and Wisdom. Opens skill branch and compile all related skills.” “Ting! Force Shield skill branch created. Compiling related skills.” “Ting! Craftsman skill branch created. Compiling related skills.” “Nice!” John exclaimed. He hurriedly opened his status to check. ============== Name: John Arcala [ - Armor Plate (Active 26 minutes) (58% Damaged)] Nickname: Reborn Level: 17 (Exp. 63.78%) Race: Human Class: Worm Age:  1 month, 2 days Health: 12120 Mana: 11356 AP: 4907 DP: 7456 (+15) Strength: 32 (+300) Dexterity: 12 (+300) Intelligence: 100 (+523) Vitality: 101 (+505) Wisdom: 50 (+305) Agility: 15 (+312) Active Skills: Telekinesis (Lv.6), Float (Lv.3), Divine Light (Broken), Sprint (Lv.2), Force Shield (Lv.4), Meditation (Semi-passive/Level 3), Parkour (Lv.4), Hard Punch (Lv.3), Skull Bash (Lv.2), Appraisal (Lv.3), Sink (Lv.1), Hold Breath (Lv.1), Swim (Lv.1), Energy Control (Lv.1), Area Sense (Lv.2) Passive Skills: Universal Language (Max), Fear Resistance (Lv.1), Pain Resistance (Lv.2), Memory Bank I (Semi-active/Lv.3), Illusion Resistance (Lv.1), Craftsman (Lv.1) Title: Anomaly (Awakened), Tatiana’s Son, Contracted [!], Reborn, Coward, Worm, First Kill, Craftsman, Skill Creator Title Skill: Danger Sense (Passive/Lv.4) Branch Skill: Force Shield [Open]: Thorn Shield (Lv.1), Thorn Coffin (Lv.3), Drill Shield: Tornado (Lv.1) Craftsman [Open]: Cooking (Lv.1), Mining (Lv.1) Status points: 5 ================ “Time to eat.” John looked at the Bukao-Moo. “This is considered beef, right?” He took the monster to a small room he made inside the dungeon wall. He slowly cleaned the monster. John fed on the monsters he killed. Although, they do not taste delicious, he endured it, because those are his only source of food. He even learnt a craftsman skill. The flower that dragged him into that floor did not appear again. He roasted the Bukao-Moo meat over a fire he made. “Hmm… smells good!” After several minutes, the beef from Bukao-Moo was finally cooked. He took a bite, “…mmm…blegh! f**k! This is definitely not beef!” He complained. “Good thing I saved some of these mushroom-thingies.” He muttered. “Name: Mush Bloom Type: Plant Description: An umbrella shaped plant that grows abundantly in Borina Cave, 10th floor. It is edible although not very tasty.” Is what the appraisal said. ============== A week passed; John rose to level 19. His skills all rose in level as well as his proficiency in them. He is now on the 12th floor of the dungeon. “Thorn Shield!” “Bam!” A huge bone club hit his shield. Some of its thorns were broken. “That was a heavy hit!” He pushed the cyclops monster away with his telekinesis and activated his Drill Shield and stabbed it in its stomach. The drill spun so fast, but it did not puncture the monster’s skin. “Damn, what kind of skin is that?” The monster push aside the Drill Shield that is trying to drill into it. It roared and rushed towards John with its club high above its head. The bone club was heavily swung down on John’s position. He dodged it by jumping back and floated away. John floated to the ceiling where the monster can’t reach. He then took some sharp stalactites on the ceiling and threw them on the monster with telekinesis. “Gwaaarghh!” The monster shielded its head with its arms. The stones broke without leaving any scratch on the monster’s arms. “I thought so! It’s the eye. The only vulnerable part is the eye!” John mumbled. John had a crazy idea. He encased himself in double layer of Force Shield and dove towards the monster. The Giant Cyclops caught him with both hands. “Hehe! I see you!” John took the chance and stabbed the eye with a thorn from his Thorn Shield. It easily pierced the monster’s eye. The monster screamed as it clasped its eye. “Damn, it’s still alive!” He floated down on the monster and gave a punch on its head. His punch easily blasted the head of the monster off. “Whew!” “Ting! Level 27 Borina One-Eyed Ogre killed. +8.25% experience gained.” ================= Name: John Arcala [ - Armor Plate (Active 12 minutes) (72% Damaged)] Nickname: Reborn Level: 19 (Exp. 13.78%) Race: Human Class: Worm Age:  1 month, 2 weeks Health: 12120 Mana: 16656 AP: 4907 DP: 7456 (+15) Strength: 32 (+300) Dexterity: 12 (+300) Intelligence: 100 (+523) Vitality: 101 (+505) Wisdom: 50 (+305) Agility: 15 (+312) Active Skills: Telekinesis (Lv.7), Float (Lv.4), Divine Light (Broken), Sprint (Lv.3), Force Shield (Lv.5), Meditation (Semi-passive/Level 5), Parkour (Lv.6), Hard Punch (Lv.4), Skull Bash (Lv.3), Appraisal (Lv.5), Sink (Lv.1), Hold Breath (Lv.1), Swim (Lv.1), Energy Control (Lv.3), Area Sense (Lv.4) Passive Skills: Universal Language (Max), Fear Resistance (Lv.1), Pain Resistance (Lv.2), Memory Bank I (Semi-active/Lv.3), Illusion Resistance (Lv.1), Craftsman (Lv.2) Title: Anomaly (Awakened), Tatiana’s Son, Contracted [!], Reborn, Coward, Worm, First Kill, Craftsman, Skill Creator Title Skill: Danger Sense (Passive/Lv.4) Branch Skill: Force Shield [Open]: Thorn Shield (Lv.2), Thorn Coffin (Lv.4), Drill Shield: Tornado (Lv.2) Craftsman [Open]: Cooking (Lv.2), Mining (Lv.2) Status points: 15 ================= “Okay, I got 15 status points. Where should I put this?” John mulled over as he inspected his status. “Let’s put it all in Agility.” He decided. In the evening, while he was having his dinner, John heard some noise from outside his small cave. The cave is not easily spotted since he made it on the wall near the ceiling. Also, a huge stalactite covers it from view. He slowly peaked outside and see what monster is causing the noise. “Oh! Goblins!” There were 5 goblins walking and talking below his cave. “The master wants us to gather Red Irons again.” Said the smaller goblin. “Yeah, it is too hard to get that. There are Fire Imps nesting around that area.” Said the other one. “Stop complaining and move faster! Red Irons can be made into weapons. The master needs a lot of it. I heard he is going to invade the Kobolds.” Said the larger one and seemed to be the leader of the group. “Argh! Invade, invade, that is all the master does. Our food supply is thinning out.” The smaller one said again. “You are too stupid! That is why we are going to invade the Kobolds. Their food will be ours when we win.” The leader goblin said. “The small goblin seemed intelligent.” John whispered. “And what are those Red Irons?” He decided to follow the five goblins. He floated above near the ceiling and hiding behind the stalactites. He also appraised the goblins and it showed: “Name: Botol Level: 25 Race: Goblin Class: Warrior Description: Unavailable” “Name: Bapol Level: 26 Race: Goblin Class: Warrior Description: Unavailable” “Name: Tupol Level: 25 Race: Goblin Cass: Warrior Description: Unavailable” “Name: Abatul Level: 28 Race: Goblin Class: Hobgoblin Warrior Description: Unavailable” “Name: Lamantul Level: 24 Race: Goblin Class: Hunter Description: Unavailable” ============ John followed them until they arrived at a cave entrance. It was scalding hot just at the mouth of that cave. “I did not know there was a place like this on this floor.” John thought. “Be prepared, the Fire Imps could appear anytime!” Abatul reminded. All the goblins took out their weapons. The weapons were red metals. John thought those are the Red Irons they mentioned. John still floated near the ceiling and hiding behind stalactites. “This place is too hot!” he complained. He sweated profusely and needed to place a small Force Shield around him to at least lessen his exposure to the extreme heat. The goblins did not mind the heat though. They continued to walk slowly while minding their surrounding for the Fire Imps. After several minutes, an announcement rang in John’s mind. “Ting! Heat Resistance skill acquired.” John smiled when he heard it. He felt a little comfortable after that. The heat doesn’t bother him too much now. An hour passed, there were still no Fire Imps. The goblins walked faster this time. “We are almost there!” Abatul said. Soon, sounds of fighting can be heard not far from the goblins’ and John’s position. “Hurry! The settlement is being attacked!” Abatul ordered. The other goblins followed him and ran towards the settlement in haste. ================ “Graaah!” A monster that looked like a huge burning crocodile attacked one of the goblins in the settlement. “Defend the settlement!” Said a goblin who appeared to be the commander. “Sir, Lavadiles are still coming out from the hole!” a goblin soldier informed. “Find a way to seal it!” The commander ordered. During their mining, some of the miners accidentally fell into a lava pit. Unfortunately, there were Lavadiles beneath it and the fallen goblin attracted the monsters. “Sir, the Fire Imps are also coming!” another goblin said. “Damn it! Retreat! Everyone let’s get out from here!” the commander said. That time, the five goblins who were tasked of getting the Red Irons arrived. “Balur, what happened!?” Abatul asked. “Your timing is very bad, Abatul! Lavadiles are attacking the settlement and the Fire Imps are also coming!” he answered. “We have to evacuate or all of us will die!” “Where are the Red Irons?” Abatul asked. “Why the hell are you still thinking about those damned irons?!” Balur blurted angrily. “The master wants it! If we go back empty handed, we are also dead!” Abatul said grimly. “Damn it! Its there!” Balur pointed at their storage tent. “But we can’t go there, Lavadiles are swarming to that place!” John, who was hiding above near the ceiling, also looked at where the Balur guy pointed. “So, the Red Irons are there, huh.” “We’ll fight the Lavadiles off. You grab some of your miners and bring as many Red Irons as you can away!” Abatul said. Balur scoffed but followed the order. He took 8 miners with him while Abatul and his companions went to fight the Lavadiles that are trying to get into the storage tent. John slowly floated near the place where the Red Irons are stored. He saw the attacking monsters and appraised them. “Name: Lavadile Level: 27 Description: A lava-dwelling monster. Its main weapon is its sharp fiery claws and strong jaws. The skin is oozing with lava that serves as an additional armor. It feeds on smaller lava-dwelling monsters but its most favorite meal are Red Irons. When killed, the lava will burn the insides of the monster and the skin will c***k. Its flesh is edible and is a delicacy.” The appraisal said. “That’s why its drawn to the storage tent. Its food is in there!” John whispered. He slowly floated near while watching for any stray attacks coming his way. While everyone was busy fighting or taking away the Red Irons, John floated down and silently grab some irons with telekinesis for himself. He inspected the shiny red metal on his hands. “This is the Red Iron?” he thought. “Name: Red Iron Type: Metal Description: A rare metal that is naturally made in lava filled areas. It is a good conductor of flame and earth mana. This metal is also hard and durable.” He placed those Red Irons in his bag. “Maybe I can use this to repair my armor later.” He whispered. John took as much as Red Iron he can stuff his bag with and slowly left the area. The goblins fought the Lavadiles but it looked like they are going to be killed instead. The Fire Imps are still coming as well. He decided to leave the area before it becomes even more chaotic. On his way out though, he encountered a group of Fire Imps. “Name: Fire Imp Level: 27 Description: A small devilish creature that is closely related to sprites. The only difference from the sprites are the horns and bat wings and their very low intelligence.” “Oh s**t!” John quickly placed shields around him as the imps started firing flame shots at him. “Kriiii!” “Kriii!” He was pushed to the wall. “Damn!” Two of his shields instantly broke from the hit. One of the imps flew to his side and was about to scratch him with its claws, but he easily blasted it with a punch. “Ting! Level 25 Fire Imp killed. +5.75% experience gained.”  “Okay, time to grind my skills!” John aimed his hand on the imps and activated his telekinesis skill. “Telekinesis: Vice Grip!” Using his Energy Control skill, John transformed his telekinesis into a hand-shape energy and grabbed three imps in. He squeezed the imps, dead. “Ting! Level 27 Fire Imp killed. +8.25% experience gained.” “Ting! Level 26 Fire Imp killed. +8.25% experience gained.” “Ting! Level 26 Fire Imp killed. +8.25% experience gained.” John trapped another three imps inside a four-layered shield. “Thorn Coffin!” “Pishik!” The shields transformed into Thorn Shields and clamped the imps inside. “Ting! Level 26 Fire Imp killed. +8.25% experience gained.” “Ting! Level 25 Fire Imp killed. +5.75% experience gained.” “Ting! Level 25 Fire Imp killed. +5.75% experience gained.” Although, his Thorn Coffin can now kill monsters of level 20 and above, John found it still inefficient. Just like now, he needed to make four layers of Thorn Coffins to finally kill three imps. There are still three Fire Imps remaining, but they started to back away from John. “Hey! Where are you going?” John yanked one of the imps with telekinesis and imprisoned the other two in a four-layered Thorn Shield. “Kriii!” “Kyiii! Kriii!” “Hello!” John punched the monster to death. The other two on the other hand were killed inside his Thorn Coffin. “Ting! Level 25 Fire Imp killed. +5.75% experience gained.” “Ting! Level 25 Fire Imp killed. +5.75% experience gained.” “Ting! Level 26 Fire Imp killed. +8.25% experience gained.” “Tsk! My skills did not go up. Well, time to go!” John shrugged it off and sprinted away from the area. ==================== Back in his hidden cave, John inspected the Red Irons he got from the goblin’s mining settlement. “If only I can go back to the village, I bet that old blacksmith will be thrilled!” he sighed, “I can go back, but that will endanger them.” John took out the Sprite Magic scroll and started to read. He still tried to gain something from the task his teacher left him. Although, there was no clear sign that he can learn the race-exclusive skill. After reading the scroll, John remembered the book he got from that ape monster he fought on the first floor of the dungeon. “Where is it?” he took out all the things inside his bag and soon found the book. “Name: Book of Spells I Type: Book Description: A book that contains basic theories and applications of magic using the 4 basic elements.” He appraised. “Well, let’s read this then.” As soon as John opened the book an announcement rang in his head. “Ting! You are about to learn Book of Spells I. Confirm?” John was surprised to hear an announcement. The book he got is actually a skill book!  “Yes!” John almost gave an instant answer. “Ting! 25 Intelligence and 15 Wisdom are needed to learn Book of Spells I. Condition met.” “Ting! You have learned Book of Spells I.” “Ting! Spell Holder title acquired.” “Ting! Spellbook branch skill opened. Available spells (5/5).” “Oh! Nice! Open status!” John hurriedly inspected his status screen. ===================== Name: John Arcala [ - Armor Plate (Active 8 minutes) (75% Damaged)] Nickname: Reborn Level: 19 (Exp. 83.78%) Race: Human Class: Worm Age:  1 month, 2 weeks Health: 12120 Mana: 17785 AP: 5808 DP: 8815 (+15) Strength: 32 (+300) Dexterity: 12 (+300) Intelligence: 100 (+523) Vitality: 101 (+505) Wisdom: 50 (+305) Agility: 30 (+312) Active Skills: Telekinesis (Lv.7), Float (Lv.4), Divine Light (Broken), Sprint (Lv.3), Force Shield (Lv.5), Meditation (Semi-passive/Level 5), Parkour (Lv.6), Hard Punch (Lv.4), Skull Bash (Lv.3), Appraisal (Lv.5), Sink (Lv.1), Hold Breath (Lv.1), Swim (Lv.1), Energy Control (Lv.3), Area Sense (Lv.4) Passive Skills: Universal Language (Max), Fear Resistance (Lv.1), Pain Resistance (Lv.2), Memory Bank I (Semi-active/Lv.3), Illusion Resistance (Lv.1), Craftsman (Lv.2), Heat Resistance (Lv.1), Book of Spells I (Lv.1) Title: Anomaly (Awakened), Tatiana’s Son, Contracted [!], Reborn, Coward, Worm, First Kill, Craftsman, Skill Creator, Spell Holder Title Skill: Danger Sense (Passive/Lv.4) Branch Skill: Force Shield [Open]: Thorn Shield (Lv.2), Thorn Coffin (Lv.4), Drill Shield: Tornado (Lv.2) Craftsman [Open]: Cooking (Lv.2), Mining (Lv.2) Spellbook [Open] [5/5]: Bloodline [Sprite (Locked)], Air Shot (Lv.1), Flame Shot (Lv.1), Water Shot (Lv.1), Rock Throw (Lv.1) Status points: 0 ===================== “Yes! Available bloodline: Sprite (Locked)” “Eh? Its locked, but this means I actually have a sprite lineage?!” John exclaimed. “Well, come to think of it, I did come out from Shacannah’s fruit. But how do I unlock this?” He mumbled. “Grrrrk!” “Ah, man, I am hungry!” He took out his remaining Mush Blooms and ate them. “I miss real food!”
