Before Coma

1049 Words
Sia’s POV I sat by the road, cursing anyone or anything worth cursing. I opened a bottle of gin I had in my bag and drank as I walked barefooted, with my heels in my left hand. I was staggering without caution. Luckily, before any harm could find me, Killian arrived to save the day. Killian took me into Rowan's car. I was too drunk to realize what was going on. Soon after, I found myself lying down on a luxurious bed in a room fit for royalty. Since I was drunk, I assumed it was just a side effect until dawn when I woke up and realized that what I saw last night was indeed reality. I found myself undressed, wearing pajamas. Scared that I had been intimate with a stranger, I tried to escape until I heard the shower running from the bathroom. Terrified about who I might have been intimate with, I locked the bathroom door and made my way to exit the room, until room service buzzed in. I looked into the camera and saw three hefty men with guns guarding the entrance. Then I knew I had crossed the line. Out of fear, I quickly unlocked the bathroom door, let in the room service, and acted like all was normal. When the bathroom door finally opened, I covered my eyes with my hands, only to be surprised that it was a woman. Out of nowhere, I said, "Did we have a threesome or… did…?" I tried using my fingers to point between the two of us, and the lady leaned towards my lips like she wanted to kiss me. "Did… what?" the lady asked. "Never mind," I replied. "You mean to ask if we both had s*x? The answer is no. Although I am a lesbian, I have no interest in you," the lady replied. I breathed out loud and relaxed. "Woops." The lady chuckled and laughed as she dressed up. "I am Rosa Terwood, half-sister of Rowan Chandler." "I’m Sia Staton." "I know," Rosa chuckled. "Nice to finally meet you. I’ve heard all about you from my brother on the phone." "I do hope it was all good talk," I asked. "Yeah, too bad I’m not here for chit-chat. We could have been friends." "What do you mean, 'we could have been friends'?" I asked Rosa. "Are you going to kill me?" "Hell no, although it could be an option," Rosa replied. I hurriedly held my neck and grabbed a toothbrush in my defense. Rosa laughed. "If I wanted you dead, you'd be dead. But too bad, my brother sent me to do the opposite. Although as the lady who broke his heart and led to his death, we should have left you on that bridge to die." As soon as I heard "death," I shattered. "Did you say Rowan is dead?" "Yes, but that’s not important right now. He asked me to process his divorce if he didn’t make it. So let’s make this fast," Rosa said, pulling out a file from a suitcase. In anger, I threw the divorce file, ran to the bathroom, shut the door, and sobbed in tears, blaming myself for being reckless and regretting not accepting to marry him. I am an i***t. I push good people out of my life. I am cursed. I don't deserve to live. I filled up the bathtub to commit suicide by drowning myself, but Rosa saw through my plans. She had her men break down the bathroom door and pull me out of the tub. "Lady, or should I say Sia, I don’t know how much of an actress you were in your past life. So stop acting like you care for my brother and sign the damn divorce papers before you make your way to the afterlife," Rosa said to me. It’s true; I never loved him, although I wanted him to love me. I took everything from him. Trying to commit suicide now is nothing but an admission of guilt. I sighed with tears dripping from everywhere. After a few minutes of grief, I held my hurt in. "Where are the divorce papers?" I asked. "Let’s get this over with." Rosa picked up the scattered documents in the room. After gathering them, she asked if I needed my lawyer present. I said no, so I signed the divorce papers, requesting nothing in return. I hugged Rosa and thanked her. She told me the suite was mine for a few days until I could get myself together, saying Rowan would have wanted that. But since I didn’t want to involve myself in any family feud, I declined, stating I was leaving after taking a bath. Rosa exited with her men while I went into the bathroom to bathe. A few minutes after Rosa's departure, I heard a knock on the door. I assumed it was Rosa or room service, so I hurriedly ran out of the bathroom and dressed up, determined never to repeat being naked before anyone. After being fully dressed, I opened the door, and it was Nolan. "Nolan, how did you even…?" I was lost for words. "How did you find me?" "Let’s just say, lucky guess," Nolan replied, looking unsettled, his breathing heavy, and his fingers nervously biting his teeth. "Okay, what’s going on?" I asked. "I’m in deep s**t, Sia. I really messed up big time, and I need your help to get out of it," Nolan replied. "Hold on! Hold on! Is this a joke? First, you slept with my sister, then you made a s*x tape with me, and as if that wasn’t enough, you’re up to something more dubious. Tell me, are there cameras nearby? Because there’s no way in hell that I am going to help you." Nolan knelt down. I hadn’t seen him this terrified before. A thought came to my mind—had he killed Rowan? But then I reminded myself that Nolan and blood were not friends. As if hell wasn’t done with me, another knock came, and seeing Nolan’s reaction, I guessed whoever was at the door was who Nolan was terrified of. I opened the door, and to my surprise, it was worse than I thought. And the funniest part? They were looking for me.
