Sia's POV
"Nolan! What have you done this time?" I asked.
"Nothing, I swear," Nolan replied.
"Excuse me, sir, how may I help you?" I asked the gentleman.
"Are you Miss Staton, as in Sia Staton?"
"Yes, and who is asking?" I replied.
"My name is Leo Phil. I am with the DEA," Leo said.
"Wait, did you say DEA?"
"Yes, ma'am," Leo replied.
"Oh, f**k! Nolan has placed me in a deep mess," I said to myself.
"Please, we would like to search your room and ask you a few questions, if that is okay with you," Leo said.
"Sure, I have nothing to hide. Besides, this is not my suite. I am just a stay-over; it belongs to Rowan Chandler, or should I say dea...." I paused, not wanting to announce Rowan's death since I suspected Nolan to be the murderer. Besides, I couldn't ruin my beautiful meeting with a handsome gentleman such as Leo. He was another Rowan or even more, physically.
The thought of him taking me places in bed was wild and full of romantic passion. Soon after glaring into the physique of his body, I woke up to reality, and before I knew it, I was in cuffs on the claim of being in possession of hard drugs.
"Nolan! Nolan!! Nolan!!! You son of a b***h, what is this? What is going on, you bastard? Did you set me up? How come you are not in cuffs, and I am? I hate you, and trust me, I am going to kill you!" I screamed.
But no matter how hard I kicked and screamed at the DEA agents, they never took the cuffs off me. I knew Nolan's timing was a trap, and I should have stayed away from him. But I don't know—I feel weak when Nolan is with me. It's like a love obsession that I can't get over.
I know I am stupid, yet I just love being stupid, maybe because I need just anyone to be by my side, and in the end, they end up stabbing me.
I was escorted out to their vehicle and driven to their office, where I was placed in their interrogation room. After an hour of silence and no sight of Leo or his team, I began to panic, wondering if they were planning on killing me. I mean, my sister or Nolan can be evil, but not that evil to have blood on their hands.
Soon, my worries came to a conclusion when the door opened, and Leo entered.
"Sorry for the delay. We just needed to get some paperwork done," he said.
"Are you going to kill me? I mean, I am not asking you not to do your job, but please, I still have a lot of reasons to live. I will give you anything you need, including my body, just to keep me from harm. If you ask me never to return to Arizona, I promise you I won't. Just please don't kill me," I pleaded, with my hands cuffed to the table.
"Well, that is a tempting offer that I might take up, but I am not here to kill you," Leo replied.
"You're not?" I asked.
"No!" He chuckled and coughed. "Of course not. Why would you think so? Although, we are still going to kill you."
I tried to run.
"Hey, calm down. Not that kind of kill. Just the kind that will work in the agency's favor," Leo replied.
"Then what do you really want from me? From what I can tell, you have no evidence of me being in possession of drugs," I said.
"Did you really think we arrested you because you were in possession of drugs? Oh, please," Leo replied.
"You didn't? Then why am I here?"
"If we were to arrest everyone in possession of drugs, that would mean filling up maximum security with half of Arizona's population, from clubs to bars, hotels, warehouses, and even the governor's desk. So believe me when I say drug possession is not why you are here," Leo replied.
"Then why am I here?" I asked.
"You are here because we both want the same thing," Leo replied.
I looked confused and said, "If I may ask, what is the same thing we both want? Because I am confused here."
"Aren't you the curious kitten? But don't worry, I will tell you soon. You will be my lapdog; instead of drinking milk, you will fetch me meat to eat," Leo replied.
Although that was not how I saw this conversation going, I was terrified and confused as to what he meant by us both wanting the same thing. Since he wasn't interested in diving into details, I just sat there, lost.
"I apologize, I can't give you the answer you seek. I will just wait for you to awaken to the truth. In the meantime, you are free to leave, but mind you, all our eyes are on you, kitten," Leo said.
The cuffs were taken off. I stood up and halted Leo, who was leaving. "Wait a minute, what do you mean by watching my every move? What happened to owning a private life?" I said.
"For a lady, you are such a pain in the neck," Leo replied.
"I thought you said I wasn't charged with drug possession, so why in the world would I need your bodyguards to watch my every move?" I said.
"Got anything to hide?" Leo asked.
I paused for a second and replied, "Of course not."
"Then you have nothing to worry about. Besides, we have the same goal, partner," Leo said.
"Again with the same goal. I know not of what you speak," I replied.
"Nice try. You were trained by the best, from what I can see. But I'd rather not debate anything. Like I said, you are free to go." In anger, I took my jacket and walked out to leave, until I heard Leo finish his words. "Agent Rose."
I was stunned as soon as I heard that. Various questions ran through my mind, and three words came out of my mouth: "What the hell?"
