SIA POV
I got into my car, my breathing heavy as I wiped my tear stained face with the back of my hand. The shock of everything was too much to handle.
I turned on the ignition of my car and pulled the car out of the driveway. For a split minute, my eyes caught a figure in the rearview mirror. It was Nolan who running after my car.
A lump settled in my throat as I sped off, still crying.
From childhood, my parents never hesitated to give Sienna everything she wanted, even when it came at the expense of my happiness. I overlooked it all, and loved Sienna with every bit of me, not minding how cruel she could be towards me.
"Sienna! You've been sleeping with my man!" I sobbed to myself, driving. "I'll not let you get away with this"
My voice was becoming hoarse and the ache at the back of my head increased.
I quickly connected the Bluetooth of the car to my phone and hit play on a song I barely listened to.
The beats were fast paced and even after I turned up the volume to its peak, it still couldn't drown out the chaos in my mind.
I was on my way to the office of my wedding planner. The wedding which had ended even before it begun.
I had to find out if there was any way I could get a refund on the money I had spent so far on the preparations for the wedding.
That was it!
I couldn't afford to lose the money and lose my cheating fiancé at the same time.
I was only a distance away from her office when my phone's screen lit up. I was no longer crying.
I stretched out, picked up my phone only to see a notification
It was an email.
I swiped up my phone's screen to see another shock. It was a letter of termination of contract from the company I worked with.
Nolan's company—Blue Mist, where I worked as the senior manager, was my only source of income.
"What?!" I muttered, reading the content of the email.
Nolan was taking away my job, barely an hour after cheating on me. Anger bottled up inside me as my muscles tensed.
I hit the brakes of the car and parked it at the side of the road. Then, I dialed his number before I could hold myself back.
As soon as he picked up, I lashed out, "Is this the length you could go? After cheating on me, you still had the audacity to take my job away from me?"
There was silence at the other end of the line.
"Hello?" I barked into the phone, "Can’t you talk, you unfaithful man!”
"He's here with me" A familiar voice said.
Sienna.
"Yes" She continued with a soft laugh, "He's no longer getting married to you! There's no need to still keep you around in his company"
I sucked in my tongue, trying to will myself from saying something I would end up regretting.
"I'm sorry, Sia. I have no other option left" Nolan said from the background, loud enough for me to hear.
"Sienna, stay out of this. I didn't call to talk to you" I snapped at her.
"After bashing his car? You think I'll let him forgive you?" She hissed, "Now he has taken the job away, I can't wait for you to come crawling back to us. You obviously can't survive without Nolan and he takes orders from me"
I ended the call without another word.
A knot tightened in my stomach as I started the ignition of the car again.
Somehow, I had tricked myself into believing that Sienna loved me as much as I loved her. The woman who just told me that she owned my ex-fiancé definitely did not sound like my sister.
I put the car on reverse and drove away from the wedding planner's office.
The money could go to waste for all I cared! Nothing else mattered to me now.
I had one location in mind.
The club.
Yes! I would go there and get myself high on booze, hopefully this would take away the hurt that I felt.
By the time I got to the club, I instantly wished I had not even gone there.
There were so many cars, littered all over the place, and it took me a while to search for a good spot to park.
My plan was to get wasted tonight and I didn't want to put myself through the punishment of stumbling through the parking lot, in search of my car when I decided to leave.
A small crowd surged at the entrance, and somehow, it pissed me off, because I wanted to be alone.
I pushed my way through the crowd and got into the dimly lit club. Loud music thumped from unseen speakers as the wild crowd danced, grinding on each other, their voices renting the air.
The stench of alcohol hung low in the air.
I held my breath, approaching the bar at the end of the room. A man groped at my arm and whispered, "Baby, let me handle you"
I shrugged off his arm and glared at him, causing him to flinch, with his hands in the air.
"Whoa" He exclaimed, "You gotta loosen up, B*tch"
I ignored him and continued to squeeze my way to the bar. The bar man smiled at me as I approached.
His eyes settled on the cleavage which peaked out of my blouse, and it sent a thrill through me. I was certain that I looked like I just broke out of a psychiatric hospital, but I didn't care.
"Scotch?" I yelled at him over the loud music.
He smiled, "Anything for the pretty Lady." He turned back to the counter behind him.
I sat on the long barstool, gritting my teeth as I scanned the rowdy room.
The wild crowd.
The annoying music.
What was I doing here? I asked myself, confused.
I had to leave! My life was in shambles and all I could think of was to go to a club.
Everything seemed to piss me off, even more. I jumped off the barstool and grabbed my purse.
The bar man returned with a long, slender glass and a bottle of Scotch.
"Hey! Leaving so soon?" He called out at me.
I acted deaf and started to push my way through the crowd again as I headed out of the club.
I was in my car, and I barely drove for a few minutes before a powerful force slammed into the back of my car, jolting me forward and knocking the wind out of me.
The world around me spun, and I felt like I was on a rollercoaster ride, only this time the car wasn't staying on the rails.
I braced myself against the steering wheel as my car careened off the road and into a nearby tree.
My head slammed against the window, and a sharp pain shot through my body as my vision dimmed.
I felt myself slipping away
