Celeste’s POV  When I woke up, everywhere was silent. The kind of silence that feels out of place in a room that should be full of life. For some moment, I just lay there staring at the ceiling, my body still heavy from sleep. Then it hit me. Maya was gone. My son too. I slowly pushed myself up, my eyes drifting to the corner where he usually sat, where his small hands reached out to grab whatever he could, where his soft laughter used to fill in the mornings.
