Chapter 31: Forgiveness

I was making lunch when I heard that my wife had woken from her nap; I smiled because she was bigger now since she was having twins. I headed to her room, passing our housekeeper, and went into the bedroom, laying the tray on the bed; she smiled and rubbed her baby bump, saying, "They are kicking." I placed my hand on her stomach, feeling them kick, and I smiled, happy I was going to be a father. I had forgiven Ryna for her infidelity and moved on with her and my boys; we had to increase the dosage of medication, and she had been a lot better. I was told about her special status in Ravena, which helped me understand her more, which, in turn, made it easier to forgive her. She wasn't in her right mind when the affair happened. However, it gave me a family, I could never have biological children, and we had planned on adoption, but this turned out better for us.

Her grandmother raised her, and she was visiting us in a few days to help with the babies since she is due soon; I kissed my wife, and she looked at me with rosy cheeks, feeling her love for me. I eventually marked her months ago, and I wear her mark; she was so happy, and all I want to do is love her and the family she has given me. Our sons can never know about her affair until they are old enough to understand, and it's her choice to tell them. Since her mental illnesses, if that is what you call it, are passed through the female line, it ends with her as long as her fugitive mother doesn't have daughters again. I left her reading a book after she finished eating to attend a meeting in the home office; my father-in-law allowed me to work from home so I could take care of his daughter during pregnancy. Ryna is Alpha Ben's only heir, and he had missed out on raising her when she was younger, so he plans to spoil her and his future grandchildren.

I met with Alpha Ben a few days after we arrived here; he wanted to talk with me about work, and we did that when he asked, "How is Ryna doing?" I was surprised he knew a little about her after he mentioned Eudora and praised her for what a great job she had done raising Ryna. I wanted to know why he knew my wife like that because I was still paranoid about finding her in another man's bed; did she sleep with my boss, and is that why I got promoted? He looked at me and smiled, saying, "It's not what you think, Ryna is my biological daughter; I admit I made things happen for you because you are good at what you do, you are determined in your goals, and I wanted to make sure Ryna had the best in life because I abandoned her when she was born." I was shocked, and he handed me a scotch, saying, "Don't tell her yet, my Luna will invite her to dinner, just make sure she turns up; I want to make amends if she will let me."

Present Time

I was brought out of my thoughts when I got a message on my phone, and it was from an unknown number; it said, "I want what is mine," and I ignored it, thinking it was a wrong number. Having the Alpha as a father-in-law made my colleagues look at me differently when he announced it. Ryna was glad to have met her father, although she was angry at first; he explained why he did what he did, although it wasn't an excuse. She realized her grandmother and mother were like her, which explained why she fell into Jerry's trap. I was hurt about the affair; my sister is the one who talked me into going to the church, she knew what Ryna was and had researched it, knowning her meds had to be taken daily. However, someone close to her switched her tablets, which made her miss days on end, and she couldn't think straight.

She had my sister and two best friends who were always around her, one was already mated, and the other just transferred from the city because she wanted to be close to help Ryna. She seems genuine, but I am barely around when she is here, and there seems to be no threat, but I will always remember the story of Savi and Summer; it's like folklore in this pack. I am not the cheating type; I am a one-woman man unless I receive two mates, which is not so rare anymore, but for now, it's just Ryna and me. She doesn't know I am her fated mate because of the meds, but I feel the bond every day; I love her, and I always will. I hated that she had cheated on me, but that's in the past, and I was hell-bent on making our future worth it.

It was late evening, and Jinx was on a business trip; Sunny sat in my lap as we made out while the TV played in the background. We still hadn't mated because every time it got heated, I felt pain seeing a strange woman I didn't recognize washing linens by the lake or being f****d. Sometimes it comes at night when I am asleep, but for some reason it's more frequent, and I feel a tugging at my heart when I try to be intimate with Sunny. I tried to hide it so we could go further, but Sunny always stopped, worried about me, and we would end up cuddling. However, T.J. tried using my dreams to locate Savi because he thinks it's her I am seeing because of the bond between us, and I agree with him. She smiled and said, "He dropped me off so we could talk; some things have been bothering me," and nodded for her to go ahead. She said, "I know we talked about this, but I can't help wondering; did you ever think about me over the years?" I smiled and told her everything I had done for her over the years in more detail this time; I said, "I am a coward," and she held my hand and said, "You were not, you were betrayed and hurt, but I have to ask, are you going to kill her when you find her?" I said, "I don't know what the supremes will do, you can ask T. J., he looks reasonable at times," and she said, "No, he doesn't," and I laughed because he really doesn't. We talked about everything, and I know she wants us to spare her mother instead; she said, "Mom needs serious help," and I smirked.

I didn't disagree with Savi being saved, because she does need help, and it was up to T.J. and Issy; however, she decided to forgive me, and I had ordered dinner for us. Sunny eventually joined us along with Sully; he was the perfect mate for my daughter, and I mind-linked him, "Does she know you are fated?" He said, "No, I don't know how to tell her," and I smiled, said, "No pressure, but let her know, it will strengthen your bond," and he agreed. We ended up watching movies late into the night, and I told them, "It's too late to drive back, stay in the guest room," which they agreed to. When Sunny turned in for the night, Toombs appeared, went into the fridge, and grabbed a beer; I was shocked, and he said, "We need to talk." He drank the beer in one gulp and said, "I went to Demorland to have a word with my father; I told him what was going on, and he made a joke about T.J. being Savi's mate because of things Dread had mentioned."

I laughed because T.J. would never, and it dawned on me that if T.J. is her mate, I am so dead because there is no convincing him to mark that b***h. Toombs laughed, saying, "It's true, he would never agree, but wha if?" T.J. popped in and asked, "What if, what?" Looking at us with a six-pack of beer and cards to play games; Rush came down with his stash of expensive whiskey, and Toombs said, "You might find your mate soon, bestie," winking his eyes at him, and T.J. growled, "Nah, I don't think so, because either she isn't born yet or she is hiding out somewhere." Rush asked, "What if it's a man?" His eyes darkened, and Toombs burst out laughing and said, "T.J will be the bottom for sure," and like that, T.J. flung Toombs across the room, going out the window. T.J. magically repaired the window, and Toombs warped in and said, "Damn, I thought you liked it up the ass," and we all laughed.
