The Querulous

 “Rune?” Phoenix asked in surprise when she opened the door and saw a sweaty, out of breath Rune. “Phoenix, Thank God you are still here! I took a chance to come and find you! I saw the lights were still on! It’s your Mother! She’s in the Academy hospital!” “My Mother?” Phoenix responded concerned. “ROWAN!” Gaia Screamed, Phoenix heard it as she ran with Rune to the academy Hospital.

Once they arrived Rune showed Phoenix to the room where her mother was being kept. She barged into a closed door, finding her mother on tubes and on a vital Machine. “Mom…” She cried out, standing at her mother’s bedside and letting her tears fall onto the bed. She held her mother's hand, inspecting her face for any injuries. She held on to her mother's hand and wiped her tears with the other hands. Her mother had no visible scars, or wounds. “What happened mom? Please… It's not your time to leave us… It's not your time to go…” She cried out, Her mother's hand was cold. Suddenly, Her father appeared in the corner of the room. He immediately caught her attention. She knew exactly the reason her father was there. He was there to take her soul with him. “Leave Dad! You can not take her! I forbid it!” She could hear her mother's heart beat on the monitor beside her, slowly decreasing, Making numerous Machines start beeping. In the opposite corner to her father was the old woman from the hospital where her dad died, Phoenix assumed it was her grandmother. “NOT YOU TOO!” She screamed, Time was running out, she didn’t know what she was going to do. Her mother was dying. They had managed to stabilize her mother from whatever had happened but her mother's time was coming to an end. Suddenly, her anger grew, among the fear she had, She placed her hands on her mother's stomach in front of her. The doctors were outside, watching in and with all the breath and tears in her. The anger, concern and worry, everything she was feeling. She gave out an earth shaking scream, “LEAVE MY MOTHER ALONE!” It came out as a screech, and while she screeched, everything in the room levitated, her eyes turned from that emerald green into a Violet, and the power she had, surrounded the room. Everyone in the academy Hospital stopped what they were doing to see what was happening. Her Hair started to glow a violet color that matched the color that had changed in her eyes. She levitated, and screamed. The hot tears were falling.

“Phoenix!” Rowan stood by the door to his mothers Hospital room only looking in, He was accompanied by Valkyrie and Demetria, Mason, Trinity and Gaia. Calypso stopped him from entering into the room, concerned about the energy that Phoenix was letting off would hurt him. They all stood at the door in shock. Their sister and friend was hovering in the air. A power that she had never had before. It has taken some Witches, years to Master Levitation, But here Phoenix was, in front of them. Levitating. “Nix…” Mason called out. Everyone was trying to stop him from entering, but being as big as he was, he pushed past them. He stood at the door frame, but still in the room. “Phoenix… Phoenix…” He called sincerely. She suddenly turned, as she had her back to all of them the whole time. Her Violet eyes stared deep into Masons, and In a chilling and angry voice, she responded to his calls. “They will not take her!” With that she and everything else in the room fell to the ground. It was something out of a movie. When she hit the ground. Amethyst Vital Machine started up again, with a normal heart beat. Rowan rushed in with his siblings to Their sisters side. As she laid on the floor. They were followed by the doctors who rushed to see Amethyst. Mason Hoisted Phoenix up in Bridal style as her body laid unconscious in his arms. He took her to an open bed, and a doctor rushed in to give her a check-up. She was still breathing, but there was a worry that she could be in a coma, or something was severely wrong with her. Rowan was at her side, surrounded by Valkyrie and Demetria, they watched their sister in concern. “All Clear. I think that whatever spell she was doing in Professor Groves room, tired her out, But it was for a good cause obviously, because She saved Professor Groves life… We were losing her at some point. It was very difficult to get her stable…” The Doctor said hanging his stethoscope back around his neck. “What happened to My mother?” Rowan Bluntly asked, “Oh I thought, Rune would have told you… Professor Grove, came in with heavy poisoning… Now it’s unclear how she was poisoned but it’s strong. We have taken bloods, we will be able to confirm tomorrow morning, what the cause of the poisoning was. But for now, well, after your sister did her healing Magic, she is completely stable, but, she is still in the induced coma we had to administer. So we will discuss a way to bring her out of the coma soon. I think Professor Grove needs rest… And so does this Little lady…” The doctor said patting Phoenix’s Unconscious body before turning to leave.  “Oh and Let her sleep…I’m sure she is out of energy…” He added before leaving the room.

Rowan  looked between the people in the room. “Mom almost died…” He Cried out… He felt arms wrap around him and felt his two sisters trying to comfort him. They held him tight and all of them cried together. Gaia walked over to them and hugged them too, and then calypso. Their energy was staggering, and the emotions that filled the air around them was majestic, the love that was in the room. Just comforting each other was unworldly. Not as much as Phoenix’s powerful moments earlier but it was almost.

“I can’t get hold of Stone or Pagan…” Mason interrupted. “Well we need to find them, If mom was poisoned, how do we know that they aren’t either.” Valkyrie said in an irritated voice. “I agree…” Demetria added, “I will go find them.” Gaia said, leaving Rowan's side for a moment, “Gai, stay with me, I don’t want to leave Phoenix or my mother alone…” Rowan said, feeling the emptiness of her comfort now gone. “It won’t be necessary I will stay with Phoenix, Demi can stay with your mother, and you can stay with your mother too…” Mason said bluntly moving closer to the bed, “Do you think that will be right? Do you think My sister will want to see you as soon as she opens her eyes?” “And why wouldn’t she Rowan?” Mason responded to the evenly angry voice that asked the questions, “I don't know? maybe the reason that you have been f*****g Trinity…” “Sit the f**k down little boy! That is not your business. Besides, she is my twin flame and I do not have to justify anything with You Rowan!” Mason said, stalking closer to Rowan. Rowan was ready to fight his sisters twin flame, he was ready to give him what he felt Mason deserved for sleeping with anyone else besides his twin flame, and deceiving them all. “Woah! Woah! Calm down cowboys! I do not think Phoenix would want you two to fight, and Row, I’m sorry but Masons, right… This is between Phoenix and him, not you…” Calypso said getting in the middle of them. “Over my dead body… That’s my Twin… Hurt her and you will feel my Wrath…” Rowan spat out. But started to calm down as soon as Gaia was by his side again. “Okay can we get to a very important issue here…” Valkyrie said, everyone looked at her, “What went on with Nix’s Eyes? Are you guys even seeing the purple streak in her hair?”, “I don’t think we can answer that Valk…” Demetria said looking around the room at everybody confirming that they all don’t know. “But I think I know Someone who will know what’s going on…” Valkyrie nodded at her sister in agreement as though she could read minds, “Adawulf…” They said together in unison.

“we’ll go get Pagan and Stone and Adwulf… Row, stay with Gaia, and got to  Mom... and Mason, I have no clue what’s going on with you and Nix, I don’t want to know at this point because we have bigger issues to deal with at the moment, but you can stay with my sister…” Demetria said, then took Valkyries hand and left the room to find her Siblings that were missing in action, Calypso soon followed. With worried looks on their faces, Concern for their sister and Mother, told it all, they needed to find Adawulf, to find out what’s happening with their sister, and they needed to find their siblings, hoping nothing had happened to them.

Dread filled the room as Mason and Rowan death stared at each other, “You know I actually thought you were good for my sister, Hell, Mas you grew up with us, It's hard to believe, what you did to Nix, You have a Gem in front of you, but you sleep with that God awful woman!” Rowan says pointing at Trinity, “You're right, It's hard to believe isn’t it? Then why do you believe it? I will never do anything to your sister, I love her more than life. I wouldn’t travel Many lives to f**k it up with one night! Tell Him Trinity!” Mason turns to Trinity who was leaning on the door frame. Instead of responding, she rolled her eyes and walked out of the room.  “I guess we will never know…” Rowan Muttered. He walked over to his sister and combed her hair behind her ear. “Love you sis…” He said kissing her forehead and Leaving the room with Gaia. Mason Stared at Phoenix for a short time, before he positioned her on the bed, where he could also get on the bed next to her. “I love you too Phoenix… I will never hurt you, although I know I have. You are my twin flame… You are my forever…”

“f**k Adawulf! Answer your Phone!” Calypso angrily Muttered. “It's okay, relax we will get to him, I’m sure Stone is with him, because they left together.” Demetria responded trying to calm her girlfriend down, She was more upset than Demetria at this point. “I think I know where Page is…” Valkyrie abruptly said, Demetria and Calypso just looked at her confused, Of course Valkyrie wasn’t going to tell them, “I’ll go and get her, but then you two need to go and find Stone…” She said, then smiled awkwardly, they both nodded, then Valkyrie spun on her heels and made her way In the opposite direction.

“Would you like some company?” Valkyrie heard as she walked the path to the teachers quarters. “Crowley..” She said in surprise, with an awkward smile. “What are you doing up so late?” She asked, still smiling Awkwardly but had been stopped dead in her tracks. “My Coven hour was late tonight…” He smiled back, “Would you like some company?” He added, “Actually, I’m in a bit of a rush… How about we plan to have a coffee together tomorrow?” Valkyrie offered, trying to get Crowley out of her path, “Wow, that, well, that will be phenomenal… Thank you… I will speak to you tomorrow then?” She smiled and just nodded, when she walked away her fake smile faded dramatically. She didn’t know why she felt weird around him, awkward and hesitant to be in his presence but she brushed it off and raced to Mr. Conan’s Apartment.

Valkyrie tapped on the door she knew was Mr. Conan, and after tapping so many times, Mr. Conan answered in Surprise. “Valkyrie?! I mean, Miss. Grove? What are you doing here at my apartment at this time of night?”, “cut the s**t Conan, Where’s Pagan” his eyes were as big as saucers, shocked that Valkyrie knew, He just opened the door wider letting her in.

“Pagan, Wake up! It's mom!” Valkyrie said, shaking her sister awake, Pagan hummed and moaned, “What’s wrong with Ma?” “She almost died, get up!” Just with those simple words, Pagan flew up in a sitting position. She jumped off the bed, and Put her boots back on. Mannix watched Pagan, then also started dressing. “No, Mannix, Let me go on this one alone, okay…” She said standing up with her boots on and walking towards him. “thank you for tonight.” She kissed him on the forehead. He wasn’t going to pretend in front of Valkyrie, She obviously knew where her sister was, and Pagan was sleeping in the same bed as him, so that was a bit compromising. He wasn’t going to speak to Valkyrie about it, he trusted the two girls to keep his and Pagan’s secret safe.  Besides it seemed as though their problems were bigger than a secret affair at this point. “Are you sure, I mustn’t go with you?” “No it will be suspicious, You are just my teacher Mr. Conan, If you come along they will either think Valkyrie or myself have instigated something…” He nodded, and smiled at her before he watched the two girls walk away.

“It sounds as if they are doing the dirty, in there…” Calypso Chuckled out standing in front of Adawulfs door, “Well that’s just great, Knock Cally…” Demetria said shyly, “it's your brother, why must I knock?” Calypso said looking at Demetria with a smirk on her face, Demetria rolled her eyes, and knocked hard on the wooden door. Hearing the Moans come to sudden stop, but she didn’t hear anybody coming to the door, She knocked again.

“What the f**k Demi…” The door wasn’t even open. “How did you know it was me…” “mind reader dumbass… Oh my God… Mom…” The door swung open and Stone was trying to put on his clothes in a rush, “Chill here babe, My mom had an accident…” He said to Adawulf who was in the other room obviously. “Actually we need Him too…” Calypso said raising her eyebrows. “Oh f**k, Phoenix… Babe, Get dressed, We need your help…” Stone didn’t need to hear anything they wanted to say, he read their thoughts constructively and got all the information he needed. “Why is it when I’m having a great time, everyone is having a disaster… Good grief… Moms okay through? Right?” He muttered as he walked the path to the hospital. “Yes, but still in a coma?” Demetria responded, “I mean, we have to find out who did this…” He muttered on…

By the time they arrived at the hospital, Phoenix, started to regain consciousness. “Mason what are you doing?” She asked, feeling his breath against her neck, “I just wanted to be near you… I needed you to be fine…” “I’m fine, Why wouldn’t I be…” She paused for a moment recollecting her thoughts, “Oh no Mommy…” She screamed as though she remembered her mom Dying in front of her. “She’s fine…She’s stable, but you my girl recovered very quickly considering the energy you used to save your mother…” The doctor from earlier came into the room, “I would like to assess her again…” He added, looking at Mason to get off the bed. Phoenix, adjusted herself and sat on the bed neatly looking at the doctor who took his stethoscope off to hear her vitals. His Eyes, an icy blue, looking into Phoenix’s as he checks her heart. “Evander…” The doctor said, He had dark hair and a chiseled body. He was very good looking. “Evander?” Phoenix asked, “I’m a mind reader.” She chuckled, “Oh I see…” she responded, “Hey cut the s**t Doctor Evander, she’s taken for…” Mason Abruptly said, looking between the two, “By who?” Phoenix responded, remembering the words Trinity had said to hurt her. “Well, If you ever need some company, Let me know.” Evander handed her a business card standing up from the doctors stool at the bedside. “Her mother is in a coma next door and you are here, offering her a date… you should feel ashamed…” Mason said again, The doctor rolled his eyes, “Phoenix, It seems you are in perfect health, just get plenty of rest.”  “Thank you Evander…” She smiled at him then he left. “Behave yourself Phoenix…” “I beg your pardon Mason?! Since when do you get to point an accusing finger?!” “I’m done! I’m done with this Phoenix! Come to me when you have made your mind up, and know what the f**k you actually want from me! Because I’m not going to be hanging by a string by nobody! I may have travelled many lives for you but I’m sure not a dumb ass, and I’d rather live my life alone than have you only want me when you want me!” “Fine, bye, don’t let the door hit you on the way out!” With that Mason stormed out her room, Just when her siblings were entering.

“Nix…” Rowan said, running to his crying sister, she was trying to keep her tears back but couldn’t, especially when she saw her brother. Suddenly the bed started lifting, and everything else in the room besides her siblings, Adawulf, Calypso and Gaia. “Phoenix, control your emotions!” Adawulf shouted. With that the levitation stopped, and the things hit the ground. “There’s something wrong with me!” Phoenix cried out, Rowan engulfing her in a hug, “Whatever you did earlier saved mom...” He whispered to her, comforting her. “Woah! Eyes… Eyes… Purple eyes…” Stone said, stuttering, “I would say it's more of a violet color…” Adawulf stated. Phoenix suddenly jumped up and ran to the bathroom looking at herself in the mirror, “Oh my God, My eyes, My hair!” She shouted as she examined herself in the mirror, She walked out the bathroom and wiped her face as she did earlier when she was looking in the mirror, “Well your eyes didn’t last long, but hell you look groovy with your streak sis…” Valkyrie said, taking her hand and sitting on the bed with her. Phoenix smiled at her sister, “Is mom going to be okay?” Valkyrie nodded, “Thanks to you, I hear…” “I couldn’t have possibly done anything…” Phoenix responded now frowning, “Um that may not be true…” Adawulf said, which caused everyone to look at him, “Well, I can try and explain it… You all are six, You all are a coven, If I’m not mistaken your mom used to be a coven Priestess, Which gave her the ability to use all of her covens powers… Now I’m sure that if you are the eldest, and Priestess, that is your title, you don’t have just your own powers, but will share powers with your coven. Valk said that it was energy like no other… I can't explain that unfortunately. Some Witches are more powerful than others… What puzzles me is that you have so much magical energy and could distribute it the way you did, in such short time, never have I read about witches that get it done in less than a month at the academy… In regards to your hair and eyes… The more powers you utilize the more your hair will change, and your eye color is because of the energy, that’s only temporary, it will go away when you calm down, and you will only have the color change when you use a lot of power. It happens to some witches not all. I’m sorry that it can't be explained in detail, but I too, don’t know why it happens…Also I’m confused as to why it’s happening only now, did you come into power only now? I Will have to research it… My dad should know… Wait… My dad was supposed to go with your mom? Where is my dad?” Adawulf then asked the nurse that just happened to walk into the room as soon as he was done Explaining. “Sir, Areson, as far as I know, had a slight concussion and then went home.. Or back to the teachers quarters.” Adawulf wasn’t convinced so he took out his phone and phoned his father, to find out that this was the truth. The nurse patiently waited for the phone call to end, so that she could speak, “I would like to say that there was a quicker response on the results of your Mother’s blood tests… The lady that was supposed to do the tests, came in especially to do the tests on your mother’s blood, and it concluded that she has been poisoned, we have found cyanide and alcohol in her system.” The nurse said reluctantly, “There was Cyanide in the last bottle?” Valkyrie asked her siblings, the nurse had left after revealing the news, “Well that must be the case because we would all be on the way to meet our maker…” Stone responded, “But if your mom Has Cyanide poisoning, why is my father only concussed?” Adawulf said again, everyone looking at him again, “I think we need to speak to your father…” Rowan said, looking between his siblings to agree. “Hey, Woah! Areson would never be involved, so sit the f**k down Fred, but first, get out of the mystery Machine, cause we aren’t doing no Scooby doo s**t here…” Stone said frowning at his brother, thinking about his boyfriend and how he would feel if his siblings were to get Areson involved. “I didn’t say we were going to accuse Areson…” “You didn’t have to say it, brother…” Stone responded pursing his lips, “Stones right… Firstly, Areson has been with us for like ever, his Adawulfs dad, and I don’t think we should jump into conclusions, I think we should blame the obvious…” Demetria said, sitting on a nearby chair. “Who, Crowley?'' Everyone looked at Stone as if he said a forbidden thing. “You were thinking it Demi!” He defended, “But why Crowley? You know what? Why don’t all of you tell me why I’m so Awkward around him and why He is always accused for something and you guys have something against him… When we were home, I loved being around him. I feel that you guys are hiding something from me… And Now that I have all of you together, I want the truth…” Valkyrie said, everyone looked at her with guilty faces, knowing what they had done.  Silence filled the air, for a moment, “Who is going to do the dirty talking…” Valkyrie said, starting to get angry. “We Hypnotized you…” Rowen said bluntly. “you did what?” She asked, looking at Demetria accusingly.
