Chapter 8

1873 Words
The teens sensed that some time had passed. Cindy was working at the cat cafe while the teens were at school. Olivia said nothing about the big white star to Jessie and James while they also lived in the same orphanage. Now they were currently at school, taking Mrs. Marie's class. The adult woman was teaching her class and was busy telling them until the bell rang. "Class, you now have gym. Good luck with it." She smiled at her class and watched the students pack up. Olivia, James, and Jessie were also among those students who packed up and left. Some of them said goodbye to Ms. Marie, including Olivia, James, and Jessie, before they left. The students walked as a group to the large gymnasium. Olivia, James, and Jessie chatted to each other and walked as the last of the group of students. After they got to the gymnasium, the boys and girls went into their dressing rooms separately. Some students brought their sports bags that they had brought with them and their backpacks, but Olivia had sports clothes with her in her backpack. Jessie put her gym bag next to her and together they unpacked their gym clothes and began to change in privacy. "You look really ugly with those wings," Ella admitted with that mean-spirited comment. Olivia just put on her sports shirt and turned to face Ella with a deadly look in her eyes. She wanted to slap Ella because she was mean to her, but if she got caught, she would be punished and she didn't want that. She had also watched too many animation stories on YouTube and almost everyone found it unacceptable how their children use violence in response to mean comments. The directors especially. But what were Olivia's parents like? Were they the same as those parents? Jessie felt frightened by Olivia's dangerous look on her face. She looked at her softly but did nothing. No one did anything and just watched the conflict in front of them. "And you are an ugly Barbie doll like that you are made of plastic." All the other girls looked startled at Olivia and Jessie was one of them. Before that, everyone looked at Ella for a reaction. Ella looked as if someone had slapped her and looked startled by Olivia's reply. Yes, the girl with wings called Ella a Barbie doll, and that she is ugly. She opened her mouth to say something but not a word came out. She closed her mouth and looked away angrily. That was when a female teacher knocked and entered. She had brown hair that was in a donut tail and she also even had blue eyes with some green shades in them. She also had athletic clothes on and a flute hung around her neck like a necklace. She looked toward Olivia, who was already wearing her sporty clothes. "Hello, Olivia. You're the new student with wings I've heard about." Olivia opened her mouth to say something, but she was interrupted by her. "At first I didn't believe that such a student existed, but now that I see you, you are completely different. I am Mrs. An. I am going to give you gym lessons." Olivia nodded with a respectful smile. Mrs. An did the same and looked at all the girls. "Get on the line. We are going to start soon." All the girls got on the line and a moment later, the boys got on the line as well. Some of the girls and boys began to switch places to talk to each other. James came to stand next to Olivia and they both gave each other smiles and Jessie looked at them. "Oh my wings, you guys are a good match!" Olivia looked at her funny. "Oh my wings? You know what? I will use it. It suits me because I have wings. Thank you, Jessie." "What do you mean by that, Jessie? What did you say before," James asked, looking at her puzzled. Olivia looked at James and wondered if he had ever been with some girls. Or boys? It could happen but he doesn't appear to be bi or gay. But you never know. Olivia accepted people like that. Jessie answered James' question and started teasing him, but Olivia didn't hear since she felt she was being stared at and then looked around until she found Ella's gaze. She looked at her evilly like an enemy and Olivia kept not understanding what her problem was with her. Was she because she had wings? There was nothing she could do about that. Removing her wings completely would be painful for Olivia. Remember in the movie where Maleficent lost her wings? It was painful for her. Olivia didn't look scared, just with a neutral or normal expression. That was when Mrs. An appeared with a positive look in her eyes and Olivia immediately looked at her, forgetting about Ella's evil look. Then she noticed there was a cylinder beam in the middle of the gymnasium with a basketball on top. Mrs. An went into a distance in front of the class and began to say, “I'm picking two of you to stand next to me so that you form your own team. Then you line up and when I blow the whistle, the front row goes to basketball and you try to score a goal.” Mrs. An looked at each student to choose who should stand next to her and finally chose Olivia and Ella. The girls ignored each other as they stood next to Mrs. An and started saying names as Olivia made sure she chose Jessie and James. They were the only friends she made. The last was for Ella. There was a boy available with dark brown-reddish hair with the same eye color as Ella and he also looked evil. Olivia looked suspicious. What was wrong with Ella and that boy? "Ruben." So his name is Ruben? Olivia watched Ruben walk over to Ella's side, and since everyone was on a team, Mrs. An went back to the line the students came from. “I would like you to line up with me. Olivia, Ella, you stand first.” The whole class did as Mrs. An asked and said and the students lined up between Mrs An with Olivia and Ella first in line. After this was done and, since the explanation was also done, Mrs. An went somewhere to the side and took her flute in hand. You knew that yourself because it made a sound to which Olivia was ready to run. Her team was on the right side, so her team had to try to score a goal by going to the left goal net. Ella and her team were on the left side, so they had to try to score a goal as well, but just missed the right side. The goal nets were boards. Then the whistle went off. Olivia and Ella started walking to the spinning top where the orange basketball was waiting to be taken. Olivia was a bit faster than Ella and she was the first to grab the ball. She dribbled it as Ella tried to take it away. Olivia was exactly the only girl who didn't know that Mrs. An left the place for a while to arrange something at the secretariat. After preparing to jump and throw the ball to score a goal, Olivia was suddenly knocked over hard. Such an unexpected action, she fell to the floor while the ball flew away somewhere in the room. Everyone looked in shock. Olivia felt like her breath stopped, but luckily she was still alive. She looked in shock and realized it was Ella who pushed her over. The blonde looked at her with a wicked grin. Olivia knew immediately that Ella was doing that on purpose. She stood up for herself. "Why did you do that? That was mean!” Ella didn't answer. Instead, she brutally assaults Olivia. She started scratching Olivia and pulling her brown hair. She even kicked her with her foot too! Olivia immediately had to defend herself so she started attacking Ella as well. Everyone looked further in shock at the two or did not dare to come between the two. But Olivia had a small feeling that some of the students did nothing to continue watching the interesting drama. The fight continued as Olivia tried to free herself from Ella's clutches, but then the blonde did something unexpected. She let go of Olivia and dropped herself to the floor. Olivia felt relieved to be free but looked questioningly at what Ella was doing. She looked at the girl with wings with an evil look and that was when Mrs. An entered. “What happened here!” Olivia was shocked and looked at her PE teacher. She looked angrily at the two but especially looked concerned at Ella, who was sitting on the floor. Then something happened that Olivia saw a lot of animation stories on YouTube. Ella pretended to be an actress and blamed Olivia for lying there on the floor. Olivia protested that it wasn't true at all, but unfortunately, Mrs. An didn't believe her. “Put your clothes back on! I will take you to the principal immediately for such aggression against Ella!” Olivia couldn't believe what she heard. She didn't even push Ella! Yes, the blonde pulled her hair and scratched her but Olivia had to protect herself and she heard Mrs. An blaming her. She was just a new student! Olivia gave Mrs. An an angry look. "No!" She immediately went to the locker room to pack with everyone watching her until she closed the door. * After Olivia finished, she took a deep breath. She's not going to the principal, she's going to escape the school. She's not going to hear the conversation that Mrs. An and the principal will say. She decided to go to the park to calm down. She looked over her shoulder to make sure her wings were comfortable. After this was checked, she prepared herself. She opened the door and started running. She heard Mrs. An call her name but Olivia blocked her. She saw that the gates were open and picked up her speed. Finally, she had escaped from the school with no one in her way. After she saw the park with her own eyes, she stopped running and walked. Her legs asked her to rest and so did her feet. She panted a little and felt warm. It wasn't autumn yet. She felt tears building in her eyes. That was just unfair of what Ella did to her. She passed some people who were watching her. Some looked in shock and others in disbelief. But that didn't matter to Olivia. She sat under a tree she found and pressed her knees to her chest. She couldn't put her head between her knees. She had to stay alert and protect her wings. “Hey.” Olivia looked in the direction of the voice and saw no human being and that's when she saw a beautiful cat. Had she spoken to her just now?
