Chapter 5

494 Words
Olivia smiled shyly and nodded at her as a greeting. She did experience awkwardness when meeting new people, especially those older than her. Meeting James and Jessie was fine for her, but Mrs. Marie looked young for a teacher. Mrs. Marie smiled kindly and warmly at her. "Why don't you introduce yourself?" Olivia felt nervous and did as Mrs. Marie said. She had been through a stutter problem before and she remembered being laughed at for it and she almost had to cry. Laughing at someone is not okay when they have stutter problems. But Olivia remained calm and opened her mouth to introduce herself. She said her name, what her hobbies are, and where she was from. After this came out of her mouth, someone started laughing from behind. "An orphanage? No wonder no one wants you because of your wings," said another girl sitting behind her. Olivia heard some gasps and others looked in shock at what the girl was saying. The brown-haired girl made eye contact with the girl who made the mean comment, and the girl looked almost the same as Bella. Her blonde hair is a shade darker and she has blue eyes. She is a beauty, but many people who look beautiful can often be mean people. The mean girl looked toward Olivia with an evil grin and she couldn't help but look at her angrily. Yes, she is sensitive, but she is not going to let it get to her. Just before Olivia could open her mouth, Ms. Marie spoke to her and everyone looked at the teacher. "Ella, that is mean! If I hear anything more from others about you, you get a note on your school agenda! Got it?" Olivia then stopped listening to what was happening around her world. She got the feeling that the blonde-haired girl, Ella, was not an ordinary girl. No, not because she is mean, but because she has something to hide. But what? Olivia herself is not 100% human because of the wings she has. But Ella's comments hurt her simply because she lives in an orphanage. Olivia does believe that children who live in an orphanage are more likely to be victims of bullying. And that's not OK. Then someone put their hand on Olivia's shoulder and the girl immediately woke up from her thoughts or dreamland. It was Jessie. "Everything okay? Class is starting now," she said as she had a worried look on her face. Olivia nodded and looked back forward while Jessie did the same, her hand away from Olivia's shoulder. Ms. Marie was indeed busy with the lesson and Olivia hadn't even heard Ella's answer or understood that she should be careful what she said. The lesson was about the theme of this school. Ms. Marie was a creative person who did her best to make the lessons more fun and she was aware that some of her students did not like the school.
