David tugged at his tie—his mother had insisted that he dress up. Well, this would be the last time he’d wear one for a date. It had been a long time since he’d worn a tie, and it felt like a noose around his neck. But he’d acquiesced since his mom had made the arrangements, and so here he was.
He checked the time. Jasmine Banks was running late. That was a sure sign she wasn’t keen on being here as well, just like him. But she had no reason to feel that way—she’d been the one who’d broken his heart. David had arrived on time, though this was the last place he wanted to be.
