Chapter 14 David tugged at his tie—his mother had insisted that he dress up. Well, this would be the last time he’d wear one for a date. It had been a long time since he’d worn a tie, and it felt like a noose around his neck. But he’d acquiesced since his mom had made the arrangements, and so here he was. He checked the time. Jasmine Banks was running late. That was a sure sign she wasn’t keen on being here as well, just like him. But she had no reason to feel that way—she’d been the one who’d broken his heart.
