I stood up slowly, suddenly feeling limp as I walked quietly out of the room.
As soon as I shut the door behind me, I saw Kieran, which made my heart thump. "Oh my goodness," I whispered, covering my chest with my hands.
He took a step forward to enter Grandma's room, but I stepped to my right to block him. "She's asleep. You shouldn't disturb her."
"Why should I believe you?" He moved to pass me again.
I stopped him once more, my brows drawing together. "You know what? Check for yourself." I turned and began to walk away.
As he reached for the door handle, his shirt sleeve pulled up slightly, revealing the watch on his wrist.
