Adrian I walked past her, opening my office door, and she followed immediately, her heels clicking sharply against the floor. “I can’t believe your receptionist tried to stop me,” she complained as soon as the door shut behind us. “Since when do I need clearance to see you?” I moved to my desk without reacting, taking my seat calmly. “Since I hired her,” I replied evenly.
