Chapter Ten: Work work work…

POV: Eric

Being officially mated to Hazel, makes my world go round. I get to spend the rest of my life with her. She is extremely smart, sweet, funny, caring, has great leadership skills. This woman is for me. 

Finding my mate on the floor of our closest crying broke my heart. I can’t stand to see her cry. She handed me a pile of documents, looking through them, I have a feeling her parents knew something might happen to them. Giving Hazel every single penny they had and handing all of their companies over to her, it’s obvious. 

I can’t help but wonder, the name on that one document was highlighted. I need my men to do a background check on him. Anything out of the ordinary, we will move in on him. Until we get anything on him, I will help Hazel take up some Luna responsibilities. 

She is a workaholic so not having anything to do for this long is making her irritable. Taking on some responsibilities around the pack is keeping her busy. Every pack member is in love with her, anything they need they come to her. I am planning a surprise ceremony for her. The ceremony is to accept her into the pack and as a Luna. 

Hazel met one of our warriors, her name is Elena. They hit it off quickly, they are out in town today shopping. This is the perfect time to set up for the ceremony, I have many omegas and other members running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

Her favorite color is blush pink and blue. I also mixed in some white roses. The party is coming to get her quickly as for decorations. As for the food I’m having the kitchen make all of the deserts, and I’m hiring a catering company to make stakes, burgers, sausages. Just all kinds of meats, sides, and appetizers. It’s a full-fancy all-you-can-eat food bar. 

I had Elijah pull Elena to the side and fill her in on what’s happening so the girls should be getting their hair, nails, and new clothes. I’m getting a special cake made for her too. My mate has been through so much, I want her to have a special night. Day by day I feel the sadness in her heart grow. 

From the loss of her parents, she is feeling it. I’m currently in my office holding a small box. It’s holding something, I’ve been working on since I met her. Seeing her lay unconscious in the hospital when she first got here made me think a lot. I can’t do anything to risk losing her. She is the love of my life, I want to marry her, start a family with her. 

I know, she needs her family back to even think about starting a life with me. That’s okay. I can wait. I need her in my life, the month she has been here, she makes me feel level-headed. My pack members even come up to me and talk with me, laugh with me. Everyone is calmer, more bright, there is no darkness looming over us. Our pack is brighter. The Luna is the Moon Goddess of the pack, Lunas’ is a gift from the Moon Goddess herself. 

I am currently in my office finishing up some work, I get a call saying they had located ‘Greg Fielding.’ They are tracking his every move, taking many photos, pretty much documenting his every move. They are even documenting their move just in case something happens to them. As they all photos, and anything they do, not to mention Greg, I get everything. 

Even the things they take out like typos, I can see them adding stuff in real-time. I’m attached to the document, along with a few others. Everyone is invested in helping their Luna. I couldn’t be more proud of the pack that the Luna had gifted me with. 

Everyone has been amazing. I have worked ahead, and I am two weeks ahead of what I am supposed to be, which is exciting. Maybe I can take hazel on a trip to the cabin in the mountains. I think she will love that. It’s time for me to head down and see how far along we are with the Ceremonies' decorations.

POV: Hazel

Everyone this morning was in an amazing mood, which got me into a good mood. Elena texted me to see if I wanted to go shopping, basically a girls' day. I couldn’t be more excited. I haven’t had one in so long. So I happily agreed. Eric was sad but agreed. 

We maybe had a make-out session before coming down for breakfast. Let me tell you, it was like a feast. They went all out today. My tummy is full. I am wearing a little slip-on dress and flats for our day out. Elena says we have a full day of pampering, which is something I need. I need to take my mind off things to get a better idea of how to handle the situation that I’m in right now.

Anyone in my situation would understand, but it’s hard to understand because…..News flash, no one is. I know Eric can feel my pain, when I try to block him from it he just gives me a look. Letting me know to stop, I can’t help it though. Anyway, I’m am getting into the car with Elena. She smiles at me handing me coffee. She turns up the music and we speed into town. 

Our first stop was to get a full body massage, hair, and nails. She made sure it was a woman giving our massages, a request from Eric. 

It was three long relaxing hours. I got my nails a dark pink color. They look so pretty. I can’t believe it. My hair is already a natural blonde, so I decided just to get it styled instead of any coloring. It’s a curly half-up style, she put some cute gold leaves and flowers in my hair almost like a crown.

 We go into a shop down the street to get some food, I notice a wine shop across for this cute dinner. We decided to go stock up on some alcohol. I thought about it and decided to make a romantic night for Eric and me. So I let Elena in on the idea and she is smiling wide. 

I take the chance and ask her if she had found her mate, and she gave me a sad smile while shaking her head. She had lost her mate in a rogue attack a few years back. My heart feels for her. 

She shook away her tears and said, “ it’s in the past, but there is someone I have my eye on. He always flirts with me. He lost his mate too, maybe we might have an actual chance together. He might be my second chance.” 

I thought about it for a moment and it hit me. All I said was, “Elijah.” 

Her face is red as a tomato. She smiles and we finish our food and head to the wine shop. I buy the best wine they have. We made sure to taste test as well. I mean who wouldn’t? As soon as we leave, we head to the mall. 

We go to Victoria's Secret, I’m getting a special outfit for my mate as well. After we go to many more stores. Elena insists that I get this beautiful long white beaded dress. I buy the dress and think where will I ever wear it. Elena convinces me to wear it tonight for Eric. 

Doesn’t make sense but I’m sure he will.

It starts getting later in the day and we stop by the store to get some foods to make for Eric and me. Also, some foods to fill our fridge forte Alphas floor. Thinking back to the mall, I convinced Elena to get an outfit that would impress Elijah. 

Maybe I could convince her to ask him out and maybe get him to ask her out. Just to get them together you, know? They all deserve a second Shan e and to be happy. I would like to support them in any way. I have a weird feeling that today is going to be interesting. As it gets later, I am feeling antsy. Something is going to happen, I just don’t know what it is. It’s not a bad feeling, it’s a good one. I feel so much love and content throughout the pack link. 

I’m so confused by this, Elena gives me a knowing look. The sun is about to set and we get into the car to head back to the pack. We pull into the driveway and it’s quiet. No one in sight, I’m starting to feel on edge about this. Elena assures me they are all at dinner in the hall. 

We go up and she helps me into my dress and puts my loose hair back into place. She fixes me into light makeup. She whispers beautiful into my ear. Soon she leaves and tells me to link Eric. We have the food and wine ready for a wonderful night with my mate. My mate says he would be right up. I have a feeling this is going to be an amazing night, I can feel it in my heart.
