Erin’s POV In the darkness of the night, there’s nothing to see behind us. I can barely make out the branches and leaves of the trees. Before us however, is the clear outline of a wall. The sporadic road lighting provides just enough light to make out our landing spot. It’s narrow. Barely a foot in width. One mis-step and bam, we’ll probably break a bone or two. “Let’s do it,” I reply to her. The fear of what is behind us and what will happen if we get caught, is greater than the fear of injuring myself. “One …” she whispers. “Two …” I whisper back. “Three …” we whisper together, and then we jump.
