If she'd known, she would've played it cooler. But upon learning their Luna was pregnant and that their Alpha was entangled with another woman, Ashley felt nothing but heartache. She just wanted to help her—nothing else crossed her mind.

Seeing her evasive gaze, Kennedy's heart sank. Could she have actually overheard?
Though Ashley was usually timid, her mind worked fairly quickly.
Sensing something was off, she immediately caught on.
"Actually, it's because of last night," Ashley said awkwardly, scratching the back of her head. "If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have been spoken to like that by Alpha Bruce. I just wanted to make it up to her."
If she explained it this way, Kennedy shouldn't suspect her anymore, right?
