CHAPTER 65 A SHOOTING “Police! Stop or I’ll shoot,” said Marco. “Domenic stared down the detectives, Marco and Tim with several police officers behind them, all pointing their guns towards him. He threw his head back and laughed but lowered the gun. As Marco and Tim rushed towards him, Domenic raised the gun again. Marco shot him straight into the shoulder blade, and Domenic fell back with a large thud. Liz breathed a sigh of relief. “Oh, thank you!” She was wrapping the blindfold around her blood-soaked leg. “Where’s Mariana?” Marco asked. He moaned, his eyes drooping. “In....a safe....place, det....ective.” Domenic closed his eyes, passing out. Paramedics came up behind her and tended to his wounds, shoving an oxygen mask over his face. Liz drew her hand roughly through her hair.
