Chapter 8That night, she lay beside him in the bed they now shared, studying the wood grain of the exposed beams in the ceiling, and pondering it. I didn't come to Alaska to find love, but to find safety and a new beginning. Russell let out a rumbling snore, his warm breath moistening the back of her neck.
