I should've fired you!

I covered my mouth using both of my hands and opened my eyes wide. I felt very embarrassed feeling everyone's eyes on me. 

Still holding Belinda in his arms, Malik comes closer to me killing me with his look. 

What did you say?  He asked.

Right when I was about to answer, God sent me an angel. I saw him entering the company looking as good as always. When he stopped next to us he took off his sunglasses. Malik and I were looking at him with two different faces. Malik was both angry and confused while I was looking at him as if I saw a saint.

What? He asked his brother and kissed my cheeks. Morning, Paulina! Is everything all right?

Omar, what are you doing here? Malik asked still keeping his angry look on his face.

I haven't seen Omar since Mr. Haddad's funeral. I am not gonna lie, I am so happy to see him.

Forget about that, who is this little princess?

Come on, answer! I encouraged her.

She nodded her head refusing to say a word and tried to hug me. I opened my arms and finally took her from Malik's arms.

Her name is Belinda. Belinda, he is Omar. He is a very nice guy, isn't he? I said smiling to her.

Omar kissed both her hands and her forehead.

It's so nice to meet you, Belinda!

Belinda hugged my neck trying to hide from Omar so he came and hugged us both. I heard Belinda giggling while Omar was tickling her with one hand and holding my back with the other one.

This is not a playground so stop acting childish! Malik interrupted us.

The bad king has spoken. Said Omar to Belinda and making me laugh.

Why are you laughing? He yelled and I came back to my serious face. What are you all watching at? Is there any show I don't know about? Go back to work everybody!

Malik kept yelling to all the people in the room, but I don't blame him because feeling their eyes on us was really annoying.

I think Belinda and I should leave now. I said on a low voice trying to escape carrying the blonde little girl in my arms.

Wait for me in the car! Ordered Malik.

Are you going somewhere? Asked Omar.

It's none of your business! We will talk later, brother! Said Malik accentuating the last word.

I left the company going straight to the parking place. I don't know why, but I think all this lunch stuff is not going to end good. I should order food and eat it inside my office with Belinda not going out with my boss in the middle of the day while I have a lot of work to do.

When I saw Malik approaching I put my serious face on getting ready to confront him.

Get in the car! He said opening the door for me and announcing his driver he can take his day off.

Actually, this is a wrong decision! We will not go anywhere!

Don't talk non sens! Get in!

After a few more attempts to convince him that going out for lunch is not a great idea, I got into the car next to the driver's seat and put Belinda on the back seats. I haven't even fastened my seat belt and we were already gone. 

Sir... I said once but it was like he couldn't see I was there. 

He ignored me all the way to the place where we were going to eat so I decided that, once in the restaurant, it is my turn to not give him attention. 

The waiter led us to one of the main tables and I sat down immediately, placing Belinda's chair right next to me. We were staying right in the middle of one of the biggest restaurants in town feeling all the eyes on us.

Bring us the best pizza you have! Said Malik to the waiter who was waiting to take our order. No, actually, bring us every single pizza you have in the menu. We would like to try them all. And also bring us a bottle of the best wine you have here and a bottle of water.

Sorry, are you insane? I asked after the waiter left our table. 

Paulina, be careful what you say! 

I rolled my eyes and moved my attention to Belinda who was sucking one of her fingers.

No, sweetheart, don't do that! You haven't washed your hands!  I should've had some wipes in my purse, but because of someone, I looked at Malik, I had to run and I forget to take it.

Malik raised one of his hands and called for one waiter whom he told to get us a pack of wipes. Five minutes later, the blonde guy came back with what Malik asked for. I wiped Belinda's hands and also mine and gave her a kiss.

So, Belinda, what do you think of this place?

She's only 2, do you realize that? 

The waiter brought us a bottle of red wine and two glasses. Wait, it is supposed we drink wine together? Now? During work time? He is indeed insane!

I don't know what you think you are doing, but I won't drink during my work time and while I babysit a kid. I told  him after the waiter left again.

I am your boss and I allow you to do it so today you can feel free to drink as much as you want. Well, not as much as you want because I won't carry you home!

After this moment I focused on a conversation with Belinda, completely ignoring my boss sitting at the same table. Observing I don't pay attention at what he was saying he took his phone, get up and left Belinda and I alone talking about a cartoon she saw in the morning. How disrespectful!

Our order came minutes after Malik's action and I began feeding Belinda who was hungry as a bear.

Where? Asked Belinda with her baby voice pointing to the empty seat who was supposed to be Malik's.

He has work to do, but he will be back soon, don't worry! 

The little blonde girl shrugged and opened her mouth for another slice of pizza. I simply love her! She makes me want to be a mother so hard.

The most important man alive came back to his seat with a big smile on his face questioning Belinda about the pizza she's eating. 

Nothing important happened until we left the restaurant. While we stepped out the place both of us holding Belinda's hands, a man with a camera appeared in our way to the parking spot. Right after Malik saw him, he lifted Alexa's kid with one arm and put the other one on my back, leading me to the car and trying to protect both Belinda and I from the camera.

Is this your girlfriend, Mr. Haddad? Will there be a wedding this year? Asked the man who kept following us.

The way to the car seemed endless and once we got in Malik drove away from that place. After minutes of silence I decided to break the ice as I saw him very tensed.

Everything will be all right, calm down!

It's easy to say it. My mom will suffer a heart attack when she'll see the pictures.

You are exaggerating!

No, I'm not! After what happened  in the morning she already thinks there is something between us. Just imagine when she will hear the news! He said becoming more and more nervous.

We were not doing anything wrong!

I should've fired you on my first day as she told me. You keeping this job is not right. Not after what you've done to my family!

What? What do you all think I've done? You keep saying that and seriously now, I don't get it! All I did was to work hard and to help your father. Now I am going to do the same for you! I said  raising my voice.

No! You slept with my father but I won't give you the chance to fool me too! 

I did what? 

Belinda made a surprised sound and my eyes were bigger than ever. They think I slept with my boss?!
