What have I done?

I did exactly as I was told and I sat on one of the two chairs in front of the big wooden desk. I looked at him with big eyes thinking if I should say something, but I decided to stay quiet.

So, Paulina Reynolds... Says him reading from a folder.

He stood up and started moving in the big room with his hands in the pockets of his pants.

Is there anything you want to tell me? 

Is there anything you think I should tell you? I asked.

Do not try to play with me, assistant! He said with a serious look on his face.

I keep looking at him and it's impossible not to notice his face that reminds me of Mr. Ahmed.

I left without adding any other words. What now? Will I be his assistant? I told him I want to quit my job and I will do it! He has no right to tell me what to do! 

I got into the elevator and went straight to Alexa's room. I need to talk to her as soon as possible or I will lose my mind. I opened the door, but Alexa wasn't there, so I decided to wait for her. 

Half an hour passed and Alexa is not here yet. I'm wondering where is she? I sat on her chair and looked at the pictures she had on the glass table. She has lots of photos with her daughter, Belinda, who is 2 years old. God, Alexa is incredible! 

3 years ago she married a rich guy from France and they were so in love. Alexa was on cloud nine. I remember as it happened yesterday. She got pregnant a few months after the wedding and her husband left her right away saying he was not ready for a baby. 

Paulina, what are you doing here? My friend asks me as she enters the room.

I jumped and hugged her. She is finally here!

What's going on?

Well, it turns out that one of Mr. Ahmed's children will run the company from now on and I've just resigned, but we were interrupted by someone and he said we... I told her without breathing.

Wait, wait! Slow down? You what? You know what will happen if you lose your job! Do you really want that?

I will find another place to work! That's not big deal!

I gave her another hug and went back to my office. It seems like I have less than 20 minutes to prepare Malik's schedule for tomorrow. Thanks God I was a good assistant and I had already prepared Mr. Ahmed's schedule for days in advance. Now all I have to do is to show it to Malik and that's it.
