Chapter 13 Eli was woken by the usual annoyance at Rob’s flat—the sun poking him in the eyes from the firmly east-facing bedroom window. Not to mention there’d been a light dusting of snow overnight, so the outside world was blinding. Eli grumbled and rolled over, burrowing into the wall of muscle and heat formerly at his back. Rob was out for the count when Eli blinked sleepily at his face, but the stern line of his brows wasn’t relaxed, and when Eli slid an arm around under Rob’s shoulder with the intention of pulling him closer for a cuddle, the skin of his back felt hot to the touch. Rob’s grimace deepened. It brushed the tired cobwebs from Eli’s mind, and he sat up, peeling the sheets back carefully. They were army green, but did nothing to disguise the rusty stains. Eli winced.
