Chapter 23: Tommy Fort
After the auction, Avery left the Colonial with the box of heavy paperweights he had won.
Tommy removed the cardboard container from Avery’s arms and said, “Let me be the stud in this relationship and help you.”
“Thank you,” Avery said as they walked to Avery’s Jeep.
As the two tromped through the bustling snow, Tommy, always being nonchalantly forward, told Avery, “We should exchange Christmas gifts this year and have some yuletide fun together. What do you say?”
Cordial, Avery opened the passenger door of his Jeep, and Tommy placed the box of paperweights on the seat. Avery said, “I’m flattered by your kindness, Tommy, but I have a very busy schedule this season. Maybe we can do something together after the new year.”
