My house

I spend the afternoon anxiously awaiting Masons arrival and when the doorbell finally rings I find myself racing down the halls to answer the door before my mother can so that I can avoid the embarrassment of having her actually talk to Mason Only to hear the door open and my mom speak to the person on the other end inviting him in "Lily you've got company" she yells as I walk into the foyer "Thanks mom we'll be in the study" I say trying to Usain Bolt it outta there "Not so fast young lady aren't you gonna introduce me to your new friend" she says giving me a look that says she does not approve and why would she with the way masons dressed he screams trouble "Mom this is Mason. He's my new partner for English and we're working on our assignment" I say "Oh alright dear well it's nice to meet you Mason. I'm Lily's mom you can call me Mrs Cohen" she says holding her hand out for him to shake "Nice to meet you Mrs Cohen" he says as he takes her offered hand "I'll have to tell agnus to set another plate at the dinner table" she states "Oh there's no need mom I'm sure we won't be that long" I reply noting Masons kill me now expression "I doubt it besides I'm sure your father would like to meet him you know how he wants to know all your friends personally" she says giving me a look that says there's no getting out of this Before she can continue the conversation I take Masons hand and pull him out of the room We'll be in the study if you need me I yell "Sorry about that" I reply as I swing open the oak doors that lead to the study "You sure?" he asks as he walks in and takes a seat at one of the chairs around the desk and puts his feet up on the table "What's that supposed to mean" I ask shocked at the way he just disrespected my table "With the way you were staring at me during lunch and how you were first to suggest finishing the project at your place I'd say you planned this" "I did not and besides who says I want to spend time with you I barely even know you" "But you want to." he replies with a serious expression on his face "Liar" I respond lamely as I take the seat across from him "The blush on your face says otherwise princess" he shots back while studying me "I'm not blushing and don't call me that" I snap using my hands to cover my face "What? Princess why not it kind of suites you I mean you've got the palace." he says looking around at the study "Can we just drop it." I reply while looking at the bookshelves on the other end of the room "Whatever you want princess." he says seeming quite pleased at himself for getting under my skin "If your done I think we should start with the assignment." I say trying to gain control of the situation "Fine let's get this over with shall we." he replies suddenly becoming more serious "What's was the question again?" He asks taking out a book from his bag "Who's fault were the deaths of Romeo and Julie." I reply reading from my book "Easy Juliet." he responds "What how is that even easy and why would it be Juliets fault?" I ask looking at him "Simple she's to good"He states to which I shoot him an incredulous look " Look the only reason Romeo killed himself was because he thought Juliet was dead so if she didn't drink the moonshine he wouldn't have died" he explains "Drink the moonshine?" I ask looking at him "What else could knock you out like that?" He asks with a raised eyebrow "That makes zero sense" I say laughing "if anything romeos to blame I mean Juliet was fine before she met him and he only complicated things by showing up" I continue looking at him "Not true Juliets life was dull and boring" he retorts "How would you know" I ask looking up at him "All she ever did was what she was told to do" he says moving closer "Why is that dull and boring" I ask running my fingers through my hair so that I can tie it up at the nape of my neck "Always doing what your told and never what you want is not living its existing" he says watching me while I tie my hair "There's absolutely nothing wrong with doing what your told?" I reply blushing a little because of the way he's staring at me "Of course you would think that princess" he says looking me in the eyes Before I can reply my older sister Ashley walks in and let's us know that dinners ready ******* Dinner at my house was usually a very quiet affair and today was no different Except for the fact that my dad occasionally questioned Mason on things like what he's parents did for a living and such Needless to say I was grateful when it ended.
