The only thing I’d ever been persistent about was my music until I lost Mia. She’d rebuffed me three times since she’d returned to Music Haven, and still, I hadn’t given up. Either I was the biggest fool to walk the planet, or a man determined to make up for his mistakes. Whichever it was, nothing I’d done thus far had made a difference.
I had my ex to thank for a big part of that. Mia was reconsidering our breakup two days prior when I had the nerve to approach her and ask her for another chance. She didn’t back away when I kissed her. If anything, I felt her resistance slipping.
