“No fricking chance!” Cameron exclaimed with widened eyes.
Was that a favorite phrase of these boys?
“Cameron, I thought you were the good one out of the bad ones. I didn’t know you had the swearing bone in your body.” Hailey commented.
“Technically, he didn’t swear. Stella deprived us of that privilege long ago.” Alex observed, glancing at Stella who was in his lap.
Stella in her defense pulled Alex’s hair making him groan.
I swear to god, Stella was so intelligent for a ten month old.
“Guys, can we focus on the real issue here.” Julia demanded.
Oh, yes! The real issue. Don’t worry, I am gonna brief you on it.
Three days of the fest had passed in a blur, without any significant event, except for the fact that I had no idea how my days passed with the back breaking volunteering work and how my nights passed with Stella keeping me awake.
One thing was good though, Julia and Hailey were a lot of help with Stella, (yeah, I said Julia, I won’t ever admit it aloud, but, she was growing on me.) Otherwise, the boys would have totally got on my nerves by now. They had their performance for the battle of bands tomorrow, the last day of the fest and it was all they could think or talk about.
It was the fourth night of the fest, and we were all lounging in Alex and Cameron’s room. Julia gave us a very valuable piece of information regarding Madison.
Apparently, Madison was obsessed with Cameron. Julia caught her on multiple occasions, stalking his social media and giving him longing glances.
But, the thing was that, Madison thought she didn’t have a shot with Cameron because he didn’t commit unless he was absolutely serious about the girl, and let’s be honest, who can be serious about Madison? I mean, that girl changes guys like clothes.
Julia gathered one more thing, Madison was going to a party tonight where she was going to meet someone important (important as in related to project Stella) and so we were making plans to crash this party, get Cameron to seduce Madison and get some answers out of her and catch the important person red handed.
So, this brings her to present where Cameron was showing no inclination to seduce Madison. It was against his ‘morals’.
“Come on man, Madison is a big pawn in this game. We can find out a lot about Stella.” Blake stated.
“This is wrong on so many levels.” Cameron muttered, shaking his head.
The girl for whom Cameron would fall, would be one hell of a lucky girl. He was a gentleman in real sense of the word.
“Bro, you don’t have to actually sleep with her. Actually, you don’t even have to kiss her.” Ashton said in an encouraging tone.
I narrowed my eyes at him, “You would know a lot about that right? After all, you are a player.”
Crap! Why did I say that? I just wanted to make a general observation, but it came out completely wrong…it sounded like I was jealous…which I assure you I was not!
Ashton smirked, “That’s where you are wrong crazy. I am not a player. I let girls know what they are getting into beforehand, you know, no strings attached. It’s there problem if they still want to get into it.” then, he ran a hand through his hair, “those days and ways are over anyway, now, most of my attention is occupied by Stella and…” he abruptly stopped.
And? And? What was he saying? Julia?
God, I didn’t want to go there, it had taken a lot in me to start tolerating Julia.
“Cameron, what have you decided?” Julia interrupted my thoughts.
“To be honest, I don’t even know how it is done.” Cameron said, innocently.
“Simple, I will show you.” Ashton replied, his gaze roaming around the room.
Was he actually going to demonstrate it? If yes, then, it was my cue to leave the room because I would make a fool of myself by babbling some nonsense, after seeing him seducing…Julia, I guess?
But, boy was I wrong!
Ashton’s eyes met mine and his lips turned up into a devilish smirk.
Oh no! It couldn’t be happening.
I quickly turned around to leave the room, but, I had taken just half a step, when, a hand grabbed my wrist and yanked me backwards.
I slammed into Ashton’s hard chest. It freaking hurt! But, somehow my mind didn’t register the pain because it was focused on Ashton, Ashton and Ashton.
I held my breath and kept my eyes on the floor. Ashton’s arms snaked around my waist and turned me around, holding me firmly in place. My stomach did somersaults at his touch and my heart…oh, my heart, it was miserable from beating so loud and fast.
He tilted my chin up with his index finger, and I had to suck in a sharp breath when I looked into his eyes.
Damn! Those eyes! They held all the beauty of the world alone. So not fair!
“Man, she is hyperventilating already. I think that’s enough.”
Blake’s comment broke our little moment and I looked around, having forgot totally that we were not alone. Ashton too, blinked, as if he was coming out of a trance.
I backed away from Ashton, blushing like crazy. (Ashton would like that comparison, wouldn’t he?) Ashton’s hand lingered on my skin for a bit more, before he completely released me.
“That looked easy.” Cameron said with his brows raised.
Ashton ran a hand through his hair and inhaled deeply, looking like he was composing himself.
What did he need composing from? It was me who needed composition. I couldn’t believe I reacted like that just to his touch. What was wrong with me?

“Millie, you are drawing a lot of attention!” Hailey hissed in my ear.
I could barely hear her over the loud ear splitting music.
“It’s not my fault that no one wears comfortable clothes to these high school parties.” I said defensively.
We were in a typical high school party, or at least that’s what I thought from my knowledge of such parties from books and movies…you know, red cups, sweaty bodies, trashed house, no adult supervision, alcohol, girls and guys, drinking games, intoxicated students, loud music and totally meaningless and a waste of time and resources in the end.
“I get comfortable, but you came in freaking pajamas!” Hailey shouted over the music.
So what? I really didn’t give a frick about what other people thought about my dressing choices. I always wore what I felt comfortable in and some trashy high school party was not going to change that.
“You should have stayed back with Blake.” Julia said to me.
“Why? He is capable enough to look after Stella.”
“Yeah, he is but I have a feeling that you are capable enough to destroy this plan single handedly.”
I gasped. How dare she? And, here, I thought, I had been too harsh on her.
“Come on Jules, don’t be rude. Have some faith in shorty.” Alex chided her.
Thanks Alex!
“There’s Madison.” Ashton exclaimed, “Time for some action. Cameron, are you ready?”
Cameron gulped, and nodded hesitantly.

“No offence to Cameron, but, it looks like Madison is seducing him instead of the other way round.” I pointed out.
Currently, Ashton and I were on the second floor of the big ass house and were peeping through the slightly opened door, in the room where Madison and Cameron were. Cameron wanted us to keep an eye on him, in case Madison tried something funny and he needed saving. Alex, Hailey and Julia were downstairs keeping an eye out for the mysterious important person.
“Does it really Matter as long as she gives us some answers?” Ashton replied, “She is drunk anyways, Cameron knows what he has to do.”
“Cameron, you have no idea, for how long I have fantasized about this moment!” Madison squealed like a crazy fan girl, throwing herself on his shoulders.
Cameron made an uncomfortable face. “Um, y-yeah.”
“I can’t believe my luck, if I didn’t come to this party, I would have never approached you. Only drunk me can do that. I mean, I am usually confident when it comes to boys but you make me so nervous, you are like every girl’s dream come true…” Madison babbled on and on, while Cameron’s face turned redder and redder.
Poor Cameron!
“I swear to god, she says that line to every boy she wants.” Ashton said under his breath.
I was about to ask him how did he know, when suddenly Madison’s phone beeped with an incoming message.
She frowned and released Cameron from her clutches, making him sigh in relief.
She checked her phone then, turned to Cameron with a sickly sweet smile, “Cam, I will be back in five minutes. Wait for me.”
Wtf? Cam?
“She’s coming here! Time to hide!” Ashton whispered and grabbed my arm.
We went inside the other empty room on that floor and shut the door. You see, this was all planned so that we could hide when Madison went to meet the important person.
We waited for ten minutes and then decided to take our positions back.
Only, here is what happened:
I pulled the door handle but the door didn’t open. I tried again, but the door refused to budge. After several attempts, I came to a grim conclusion.
“Ashton?”
“What?”
“I think someone locked us.”
