Chapter 22 – Ryder’s Warning

1121 Words

The night was broad with tension, the sky remained heavy from the storm that had passed. The Royal Packhouse stood high against the dark early morning horizon, its windows glowing with a faint flash of daylight. But the air carried something else..an unsettling cold energy. Ryder felt it strong in his bones as he stood at the edge of the estate, his wolf restless within his skin. He clenched his fists, his face frowning and jaw tightening as he stared up at the windows, searching for one in particular. Nora’s. She was still inside his rival’s Royal packhouse. Under his rule. It was unbearable. Ryder’s breath was slow and uncontrollable, his blood kept boiling with every second that passed. He could still smell her…weak traces of her scent from their last encounter in the hidden woods.
