13. Luna Queen

"Hey there Stacey.." he say staring at her stiff paralyzed body. Her leg turning black with the snake hissing continuously at them. Cameron roll his eyes knowing he can't kill the snake. Remembering his Alpha King words.

"Keep the snake alive.. it's mine to deal with" Cameron shiver feeling his sinister smile through his words. He for no reason pity the snake condition for picking the wrong target.

Stacey stare at him immediately recognising him. The man with the green eye who was sweet to her.

"I think.. I need.. a little ..help" Stacey whisper her voice shaking a little looking up at him. Her eyes fill with unshed tears. Her hand trembling. For a human it would be a very traumatic experience.

"Stacey look at me.. that's it. I'm Cameron.. Do you know why my eyes are green?" He ask making her frown. Irritated with his silly question.

"Well actually it's because when I was in my mother tummy she ate a lot of green leaves enough to make my eyes green.. but thankfully not enough to turn me green" he chuckle managing to erupt a smile out of her. Imagining a green Cameron with a sweet smile.

"All done. Damn. You're leg is all black.. someone wouldn't be pleased" he whisper the last part with the snake already wrap around his hand.

"How did you.. when? How" Stacey ask surprise not even feeling it and in just a short span of time.

"Oh.. when my mother ate a lot of green leaves" he say laughing out proud with himself. Helping his Luna Queen.

Her eyes welled up more making his smile go paralyzed. Jared won't spared him if she cry.

Suddenly a pair of warm large arms wrap around her shielding her face on his chest as tears rolls out. She grip onto his shirt tightly with tears continuously streaming down her cheeks. She don't want anyone seeing her crying. With a sharp glance towards them they bow walking away leaving them alone.

"Its ok now. It's alright" he soothe rubbing her back. Stacey sob realising his voice.

"Why.. are you.. late? I was.. s-so scared.. that big.. ugly .. s-snake was.. so scary.." she sob complaining. Her hands still shaking slightly. Jared heart clench listening to her.

"I'm sorry.. I was late. I'm so sorry. It will never happen again.." he kiss her head hugging her tighter. She whimper moving her leg.

"Are you ok? Did it bite you?" He ask worried. Stupid Cameron can't even do one thing properly.

"Don't say bite.. it was.. scary" she cry again hitting his chest. He sigh. Feeling more helpless compare to the situation before.

"Ok.. I won't. Are you hurting anywhere?" He ask softly cupping her cheeks. Rubbing her tears with his thumb. Staring at her lovingly. The tingling spark everywhere.

"My leg feels numb" she whisper softly embarrassment staring to kick in. He nod looking down at her leg. Still black with no blood passing through. He definitely is not going to spare that snake.

He massage her leg until blood flow through. Turning back to the normal colour. Stacey staring at him through the whole process admiring his out of earth handsomeness.

"Thank you and I'm sorry" she say softly blushing slightly. She acted spoiled whimpering like a little kid. Hearing his soothing caring voice makes her wants to rely on him. Her tears spilling out.

"Don't. I'm happy you rely on me.. even though it wasn't much" he mutters looking sullen.

"No you did a lot. Thank you so much" she say making him smile. His mate appreciating his little help.

"Let's get you home. You must be exhausted?" He ask sternly staring at her. She nod not able to lie. Stacey pick Livy and her bag standing up to which her leg gave up.

Jared pick her up in a bridal style. Stacey squeal carrying Livy in her arms. His narrow hazel eyes giving her no stand to protest back but give in.

Her eyes silently scan around searching for a big brown dog. Too unrealistic to be call an ordinary dog. Jared notice her lingering eyes scanning around. Weirdly happy she was thinking about him.. his wolf form.

"What are you doing in the woods? If you don't mind me asking.." She mutters asking him softly wrapping her one arm around his neck. The other holding her pup.

"Shouldn't I be asking you that. What is a defenseless girl doing.. alone in a dangerous deserted wood?" She tense up with the turn of question directed towards her. She can't let anyone know about Cookie existence.

"Sight seeing.. I love the silent woods" she lie but she indeed love the woods. It give her peace from the intrusion of any other human on her comfort zone.

"Are you a hunter? Were you all hunting in the woods now..?" She ask him again when he did not comment back.

"You can said that.. partially" they do hunt for prey. So it means he's not lying to her mate. Though they mean different things.

"Do you hunt everything..?" She ask feeling concern for a particularly huge harmless brown dog.

"Not everything but which are big and worth hunting" Stacey flinch with his respond. Big.. cookie is big. Large. Enormous.

"Even dogs if it's big?" Jared frown not catching her.

"Mate still think we are dog" Alex sigh dramatically like he was wounded. But quite the opposite happy to have their mate on their arms.

"Hold on tight if not I might drop you" he say loosening his hold a little making her wrap her arms around his neck tightly. Feeling the tingling sensation.

"You can put me down. I'm heavy.. I think I can walk now" she mutters softly looking embarrassed with overtime.

"You're not even weighting what I lift everyday. You don't weight anything call heavy" he say referring to what he weight lift during exercise.

"You don't even weight 100 pounds.." Jared tease making her blush.

"I weight more than that.. it's 105 pounds not 100" she mumble pouting her lips. He smile loving the peaceful conversation with his mate. Not like before.

Stacey smile loving the tingling sensation which give out a pleasurable shiver all over her body. How his lips tuck up into a smile or that sexy smirk over time.

"I'll have someone bring over your bike later. Don't stay up and rest early. Am I clear?" He say giving her a stern firm look. He was dead serious. She nod quietly obeying him it is what she needed the most right now.

"Thank you for your help today.." she thanked him reaching the house. With Jared carrying her for more than twenty minutes all the way back. It was nothing to a werewolf. Especially an Alpha King.. they possess excellent strength and powerful stamina. Enough to take down ten werewolves in an attack on him.

"Go inside" he place her down on her porch. Doing the thing he failed to do before. He regretted that time leaving her halfway.

Stacey turn walking towards the door when she turn around staring back at him with a small smile on her lips. Then she say something leaving the cold stoic Alpha King blushing behind her.

"Jared you look more handsome when you smile.." she say shyly closing the door behind her.

"She call my name Alex.. Jared. She call my name" he say blushing. His heart thumping remembering her words.

"Alpha King the Blue Moon Alpha wants to meet you. They want to thank you for bringing back Luna Queen safely.." Cameron mind link him.

"I'll be there" he respond back walking towards the pack house. Some minutes away from the guest house Stacey was staying in. More into the woods.

Alpha Felix along with his Luna Marley and Sam stand waiting infront of the pack house for the Alpha King. His beta came towards his side along with the two warriors.

"Alpha King pleased to have you in our humble small pack. I'm Alpha Felix and this is my mate Marley. Our son Sam next in line for the Alpha.." Felix introduce themselves showing respect to their Alpha King. Who reeks of power and dominance with a stoic face.

"Alpha King" Sam acknowledge him showing respect.

"Alpha Felix" his voice hard with roughness and aloof staring at Sam. He was the one his mate reek of the other day. How bold of him to rub his scent on what's not his. A low growl escape him.

"Alpha King if you wouldn't mind please come inside and rest.. even though we are not to your standard. We would like to serve you and try to meet your required needs.." Marley say with a warm smile trying to divert the growing tension between her son and the Alpha King.

"Thank you for your hospitality Luna Marley.." Cameron say knowing Jared personality.

Felix guide them to the office then resting vice Jared order to have a discussion. His mind in a haphazard mess impatient to know his mate relation with them.

"How is my 'Mate' related to the Blue Moon Pack?" He ask emphasizing the word mate staring dead at Sam who dare not look into his eyes. Which would only be taken as a challenge to the Alpha King.

"Alpha King may I know who is this Mate your are referring to?" Felix ask despite he doubt it is Stacey. He want to make sure.

"Stacey Melon is my mate. The to be Luna Queen.. my Luna Queen" he say calmly watching how Sam goes from flinching to going tense.. his eyes widening looking surprise.

Sam immediately looks up eyes locking with Jared who's icy cold eyes is already piercing at him.

"Stacey is your mate? How? She's a human Alpha King.. there have never been a human as the Luna Queen in the history" Marley say not wanting to believe her instinct nor what she is hearing.

"So are you trying to say the Alpha King don't recognise who his Mate is?" Jared ask coldly narrowing his eyes at her. Marley flinch trap in his dangerous dark eyes.

"I dare not Alpha King. My apology.." she apologize bowing her head.

"Alpha King. My mate is too shock to process it she doesn't mean that. She is just worried about Stacey who is like a daughter to us. My mate is only looking out for her safety" Felix say making Jared frown.

"So I'm not safe for my mate? Is that what you mean Alpha Felix?" He growl his body starting to tremble with anger. He's the strongest werewolves. How can he not protect his Mate.

Cameron step in knowing what ever they say would only agitate Jared. He understand the two part. They are worried about Stacey safety but Jared and his wolf thinks another. They take it as he is not strong enough to protect her.

"Alpha King they are worried about Stacey as their daughter. Everyone is aware you can protect our Luna Queen. They are worried about her as a human between werewolves.." Jared glare at his beta processing his word. He never thought of that.

"We apologize Alpha King we don't mean to offense you with our choice of words" Felix apologize before matters goes out of hand. He can tell Jared possessiveness over his mate.

"Alpha King can you assure Stacey would be your only Luna Queen? I'm only concern for her. If I remember it correctly Alpha King you're in talk with the Silver Black pack Alpha for your Luna Queen position?" Sam ask If Jared only needs Stacey to strengthen his wolf power he would do anything to keep her away from him. Even at the cause of his life.

Jared eyes darkened glaring at Sam who remain unfazed by thew glare. His jaw clench fuming angrily.

Cameron sigh at Sam bravery as well as stupidity. Just second ago he was about to shift from anger because of them and now he is asking a question which would only set Jared to fire. Was he courting an early dead?
