(Elara's POV) The morning sun glinted off fresh snow as I stood near the luxury SUVs that had gathered between our residence and the main pack house. After days of snowfall, the skies had cleared, allowing gentle sunlight to warm the day. The frost on ancient trees glimmered silver-white against the blue sky.
Pack enforcers in plain clothes stood ready, their watchful eyes scanning for threats. We were leaving the safety of Redwood territory, and even for a short trip, protection was necessary.
Just as we were preparing to depart, Caleb appeared running toward us, his breath making white clouds in the cold air.
"Future Alpha," he called out, "the Alpha King has urgently summoned you—please proceed at once to his residence!"
