The world outside seemed shrouded in a gloomy haze as I gazed through the window of the SUV. Everywhere I looked, there was nothing but a dull, murky expanse of white. The wind howled like a wounded animal, sweeping snow across the paths that had been cleared earlier.
I wrapped my wool coat tighter around my body. Even with the vehicle's heating, the bitter cold seemed to seep through every crack.
