Leilani frees Evie from the swing, Evie’s wrists and ankles instantly healing from the abrasions caused by the thick strapping. Leilani eyes her skin as she pulls the girl into her arms, stroking her back and coaxing her once more. Evie collapses into Leilani’s embrace, feeling the safety and security that she has been missing for such a long time. Leilani is happy to look after Evie, but she has to remember that they are still in a perilous situation, she doesn’t know where the man is, she still has not regained her strength and she just promised to protect Evie.
