“Alice?!” I heard a voice call out as it shook me gently. I opened my eyes. It was Damien. “Are you okay? I've never seen you sleep this deep, you really are exhausted,” he said with concern spread across his face. I hadn't realized that I had slept for more than an hour as I sat on the rock and rested my back against a tree.
“I’m really sorry. I tagged along to help you but I ended up sleeping through.” I rolled my eyeballs, angry at myself for being so undependable and unreliable. I can't believe I actually fell asleep.
